Magnolia in Blue - Hand Stamped Sentiment #388

Magnolia flowers are starting to emerge from their branches even before their leaves.  I haven't seen any blue ones and this is were artistic expression comes in.  Today, for the sketch challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments #388 my magnolia is blue.

On a Seaside Spray card stock base layered with some Vellum Specialty DSP (retired), a Magnolia flower was added.  A bit of the flower and leaf were trimmed off and that I placed in the inside of the card.

The Magnolia was stamped on a separate piece of card stock, coloured first with and aqua painter filled with alcohol rather than water, and ink pads of the following colours:  Daffodil Delight, Seaside Spray and Pear Pizazz.  The Stampin' Blend Seaside Spray marker was then used to shade and highlight certain areas.  After die cutting with the coordinating Magnolia die, it was added to the card front as indicated using dimensionals.

No flower is complete without glitter, so some Glitter Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds was added to the flower edges.

The sentiment, stamped in Pear Pizzazz, is from "Well Said", die cut with the Ornate Frame die and added to the card front with dimensionals.

Some Old Olive glitter gems were randomly added to the card front

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Good Morning Magnolia, Well Said
Inks:  Black Memennto, Inks: Seaside Spray, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Stampin' Blends of the same colours
Papers:  Seaside Spray, Whisper White, Specialty Vellum (retired)
Accessories:  Magnolia Memories die, glitter Gems, Ornate frame die, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds

I would never have thought of blue magnolia but it looks so pretty and magical with the Dazzling Diamonds. There are so many textures and details that make this card so beautiful. Thanks for playing at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Great design! The magnolia pops beautifully and the paper adds nice texture too and I like how you stamped on it. Thanks for playing along with Hand Stamped Sentiments!
