"Proud as a peacock" is a saying that is used to mean a vain or self-centered person. The phrase comes from the plumage of the male peafowl (females are peahens). When a male is courting, he spreads his tail feathers, sometimes five feet in length, out in a fan pattern to attract a female. (Wikipedia)
The Peacock was used as the focal image for the card made for the sketch challenge with Paper Craft Crew Horizontal Challenges here
On a Pretty Peacock card stock card base, is added a Whisper White layer upon which the Focal Image is adhered. The Focal image consists of two different size Ovals die cut using the Layering Oval Dies. The larger oval is used to die cut the new Noble Peacock foil; the smaller is used to die cut the Noble Peacock DSP (Old Olive foil).
The Peacock is stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White with Pretty Peacock ink and the overlay feathers embossed with gold embossing powder. Blendabilites are used to colour the Peacock and Clear Wink of Stella added. Since I do not have the dies, the peacock is fussy cut, with a section of the lower plumage trimmed in order for the bird to fit on the smaller oval. It is adhered to the smaller oval using dimensionals.
Using the stamparatus and a stamp from "Around the Corner" stamp set, a row of images is stamped almost all the way across the upper half of the Whisper White piece. The larger of the two die cut ovals is adhered to the Whisper White layer , Before adhering the smaller oval to this die, a piece of 1/2" Pretty Peacock Scalloped Linen ribbon, notched at both ends, is adhered over the adhered oval parallel to and slightly over top of the stamped images.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
To finish the card, some bling is added in the form of coordinating Noble Peacock rhinestones.
