Flying Deer Shadow Box - Open House Door Prize

This 7 by 10 front opening shadow box is a dollar store find, and although the frame is made of unpainted wood the window is plastic.

Using the Dashing Deer framelits, and Hearts Come Home framelits die cuts, I added a string of mini lights to create this 3D Lighted Window Box, which will be the main door prize at my Open House on Oct. 13.

The sky was made using an emboss resist technique using the Star of Light stamp set and white embossing powder,  The moon was masked off using a 1 1/4" circle punchie.  Color was applied using a brayer.

The houses were die cut and layered with the lights in between. The extra lights were adhered behind the stars in the sky.

Because the deer were die cut in copper foil I painted only the outside lid with copper shimmer paint.  I added them using a strip of card stock accordion folded that gave them the ability of movement.
