Dragonfly & Doillie Sponged Background - Hand Stamped Sentiments #259

The Sponged Doillie technique was a technique I saw on Pinterest, a tutorial of which was done by Irene Rahman on her blog "My Crafty Creations", but unfortunately I could not track the blog post down.
I used this technique to create my own DSP panel for the sketch challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments

To make the background for the panel, I used the new Doillie as a template and sponged several colours over it (Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron & Rich Razzelberry), moving the doillie around until the entire surface was covered.

A 1 3/4 by 4 3/4 piece of this was matted with Melon Mambo and adhered to a Whisper White card front

On the smaller Whisper White piece embossed with the Falling Gently embossing folder, Bermuda Bay die cut dragonflies were adhered after which this piece was also matted with Melon Mambo.

In order not to cover up the dragon flies, the sentiment was embossed on a strip of Vellum which was notched at both ends.

Papers: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Vellum, Bermuda Bay
