Have a Nice Day - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #298 and a SAB sneak peak

I haven't participated in many challenges lately as my craft show schedule has been quite grueling.  I really should be preparing for my class on Wednesday, but I just wanted to have some fun and play a little.
Since I went to On Stage in Ottawa early in November, I have had some new Occasions Catalogue products, and Sale-a-bration products in my hot little hands.  I've been itching to play with them
So, today I grabbed one of the SAB stamps, and made a card using the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.
As well as using the sketch, the challenge was to make a Gatefold card.
Enjoy the sneak peak of this SAB stamp set.

The base card is Calypso coral 5 1/2 by 8 1/2" , scored at both long ends at 2 1/8". The card was folded inward along the score lines so that the ends met in the middle to form a Gate Fold card.

On the left hand side, I adhered a 2 by 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock, on top of which was adhered a 1 7/8 by 5 1/8" of Pretty Petals DSP.  No DSP was adhered to the Whisper White layer on  the right side.

The image, from "Hey Chick" a SAB stamp set, was stamped twice on a scrap piece of Whisper White.  One of the images was completely coloured with new colouring tools which will be available after January, and a Calypso Coral marker.  This image was cut out and laid aside.  On the second image, only the wing was coloured, and then cut out.  It was attached to the full image using dimensionals.

The sentiment on the sign was stamped on a 1/2 by 1" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The edges were sponged with Basic Gray ink.  To this sign was attached a tooth pick.  The other end of the tooth pick (with some tombo glue on it) was inserted under the wing of the chicken.

The Timeless Texture stamp set was used to create texture on the 2 1/2 by 3" Whisper White art piece.  Using Basic Gray ink, the image that looks like chicken wire was stamped repeatedly to completely cover the surface.  The edges were then sponged with Basic Gray ink. This piece was matted first with Basic Black cardstock, and then Calypso Coral.

On this art piece the chicken was adhered using dimensionals.  Dimensionals were also placed under the sign.

Only the left half of the art piece was adhered to the left flap of the card front.

Off to the right lower side of the art piece, the image of an egg about to hatch was stamped and coloured on a 7/8 by 1 1/8" piece of Whisper White. After sponging the edges, it too was matted with the same coloured cardstock as the art piece, only the Calypso coral layer was extended beyond the edges of the image piece. A piece of DSP was adhered to the right of the image, and the edge notched. Some Calypso Coral baker's twine was wrapped around this banner.

Only the left half of this piece was adhered to the art piece.

Here's a close up.

You will absolutely adore this new stamp set.  There are 2 more "chicken" stamps that are utterly delightful!
