Go Graduate - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #116

Graduation time is drawing nigh for many students in secondary and post secondary programs.  Since my craft shows are starting in about a week or so, I find myself in need of some graduation cards. These cards are very popular this time of year.  So for the challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here - yes- I made a graduation card.

 

I thought I would make the base card out of a colour that is being discontinued - Not Quite Navy.  This was layered with an embossed Bashful Blue (also being discontinued) card stock.

A strip of striped Parker's DSP was attached to the right side of the Bashful Blue, and 3 Regal Brads were inserted into the left corner.

The focal image is from the "Go, Graduate" stamp set (retired).  The owl was coloured with pencil crayons and blended with an Aqua brush. The water colour pencils are also being retired. The image was punched out using a 1 3/8" circle punch, and the edges pricked with a template and paper piercer.  I also sponged the edges.

This circle was attached to a 2 1/2 by 2 1/2" square of Not Quite Navy card stock.  The edges of this were also pricked.  This square was attached to the middle of the card, with the right hand overlapping the DSP.

The sentiment is stamped with Not Quite Vavy on Whisper White card stock, punched with the Word Window Punch and layered with Not Quite Navy cardstock punched with the Modern Word Label Punch.
