What a beautiful day today. I thought it was supposed to rain all day today, but I guess not. Toronto really got dumped on yesterday, resulting in swollen rivers and flooded expressways. One man jumped into the fast moving Humber river after his dog decided to go for a swim and hasn't been seen since. The dog made it out on his own. My thoughts are with his family.
I made this card for the challenge with Unscripted Sketches here. It's a card for Father's Day which is coming up very soon.
This A2 card has a base card stock of Early Espresso card stock, layered with a Houndstooth embossed Crumb Cake layer. The edges of this layer have been sponged with Early Espresso ink.
The focal panel was first stamped with a Beyond Plaid image using Crumb Cake ink. I stamped the image off one time so the colour would not be so intense. Then, using Early Espresso ink, I stamped the sentiment, using the stamp-a-ma-jig to center the words properly. They were stamped directly over the Beyond Plaid image. The edges of this Whisper White panel were also sponged with Early Espresso ink.
Then I stamped a tie from Dapper Dad, in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White card stock and cut it out, adhering it to the top middle of the image panel. Four Naturals buttons were faux stitched with card stock and adhered to the top of the panel - two on either side. This completes the card.
Here's a list of materials/supplies used:
Stamps: Amazing Family, Beyond Plaid, Dapper Dad
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Papers: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Houndstooth folder, Naturals buttons, dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by.
