Happy Birthday Cupcake - The Friday Mashup #105

What a miserable day today!  We didn't get the snow, but we got lots of freezing rain - so much so that trees were downed along with power wires.  For over 4 hours today we were without electricity - so I just went back to bed!
My son tried to clear large broken branches off the street in front of the house, fearing there would be an accident if he didn't.  My neighbour, across the street, came home in the midst of his cleaning up efforts and yelled at him for throwing branches into her flower bed!  Honestly, what's more important!

Today's challenge with the Friday Mashup has nothing to do with ice storms, but everything to do with birthdays associated with a sketch challenge.
Here is my card:

This A2 card has a Baja Breeze card stock base, layered with Whisper White card stock, and then 2 pieces of Patio Party DSP.

The focal image was stamped onto Whisper White card stock and painted with ink pads and an aqu painter.  I used Liquid Applique heated with the embossing tool as icing on the cupcake.  Before drying it I added Dazzling Diamonds.

The Whisper White square was matted with Baja Breeze card stock.  A banner of Riding Hood Red cardstock was attached under the cupcake image.  To this banner was attached a small strip of scalloped Summer Starfruit card stock.  A bow made from Marina Mist/Whisper White Baker's twine, was attached to the lower left corner. The focal image panel was attached to the card using dimensionals.

The sentiment was part of the cupcake image.  It was highlighted with a Basic Black marker and stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock, then punched with the 1 3/4 by 7/8" oval punch.  This was layered with first a 1" circle of Baja Breeze, and then a Modern Word Label punched from Riding Hood Red card stock.
