An Art Gallery Project (Mini Catalogue sneak peak)

 I am in love!

No, I didn't meet a special someone, but a special something-The Art Gallery Bundle. And the DSP that coordinates with this bundle - WOW!!

As if the DSP wasn't gorgeous enough, add gold to certain areas and you hav a master piece.  If you have never worked with Gilded Flakes, I have plenty of tips and tricks. As I work through this project I will give you tips and tricks on how to apply gold to your project.

I must admit I was reluctant to cut into this paper, but the lure of the project won out.

Here's my project- a decorated mini pizza box containing 4 (3 by 3") note cards and envelopes.

Dimensions of the Lid:

Top:
.Merry Merlot    3 1/4 by 3 1/4"
.Fine Arts DSP    3 by 3"  Adhere the two layers together and add to lid of now assembled Mini Pizza box.
.
.Die Cut a 2 1/4" circle using the Stitched Circle Die.  Die cut a smaller circle in Whisper White (2").  Adhere the 2 together and add to the center of the lid.

Using a dauber, apply Blushing Bride ink to the flowers of the single floral cluster.  Then with a second dauber, apply Merry Merlot around the edges of the small buds and the centers of the larger flowers.  Apply Old Olive to the leaves and stems. Spritz lightly with water and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  When dry, die cut and adhere to the circles using dimensionals.  To make the flowers look more like the flowers in the DSP, I applied some Blackberry Bliss to the flower centers using a Stampin' Write  marker

A bow made with gold twine was added to the base of the flowers and some Gilded Gems added randomly on the DSP.

Sides:

.Merry Merlot 3 1/4 by 3/4"
.DSP 3 by 1/2"
Cut 4 of each piece, adhere together and add to each of the four sides of the box.

Note Cards:
Make 4 Thank you notes to fit in the box.  For each card I cut a 3 by 6" piece of Whisper White card stock and scored it at 3" to make a 3 by 3" card. These would fit into the 3 1/4" by 3 1/4" envelopes.
Each card was decorated using the Fine Arts DSP.  The sentiment was gold embossed and die cut before adding to the card front. Each note card had 3 Gilded Gems added to the upper right side.
Gilded flakes were added to the Tear and Tape adhesive which had been added along the edge of the DSP.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Art Gallery

Papers;  Whisper White, Merry Merlot, Fine Art Floral DSP, Gold Foil
Accessories:  Mini Pizza Box, Floral Gallery Dies, Gilded Leafing Embellishments, Gilded Gems, 3 1/4 by 3 1/4 Whisper White envelopes, Stitched Circle Dies, Gold twine

3D Ornament - Hand Stamped Sentiment #273

The ornament I made by altering a mini Pizza Box was inspired by Monica Gales here.  I use the Hearts Come Home bundle. After making a couple of these ornaments, I decided to make this part of my "Ornaments and Tags" class this past week.  The students were absolutely delighted!!

I also decided to submit these ornaments for the Inspiration Challenge at  Hand Stamped Sentiments

A brayer was used to apply Pool Party ink to the entire front of the "matte" side of the unformed Pizza box.

Then using the largest of the Layering Square Framelits, an aperture was die cut in the lid.  The scallop square die cut (the art piece) was used to build the village on.

Before building the village, snowflakes were white embossed on the sky followed by application of Marina Mist ink with a brayer.  A paper towel wiped over the snowflakes revealed their presence in the sky

Using thick Whisper White, the silhouette of the village houses was die cut.  The house at the end was "cut off" the end.  It would be placed in the upper part of the art piece.

The houses were coloured with Stempin' Blendabilities and then covered with Dazzling Diamonds.  Love all that glitter.

Before mounting the houses, some Daffodil Delight was placed behind them to give an illusion that someone was home. I used the new adhesive sheets to adhere the Daffodil Delight to the back of the houses.
Using dimensionals - and in some instances - double dimensionals, the houses were added onto the art piece.  The art piece was then adhered to the inside of the box using dimensionals.  After the art piece was firmly in place, the pizza box was now formed. I filled in the bottom of the box with texture paste covered generously with Dazzling Diamonds.  This gave the illusion of snow.

Double sided tape helped to adhere Powder Pink ribbon around the outside of the box.  Using a hot glue gun a pine sprig was added, followed by a mini ornament.  A bow, make with the same ribbon, was adhered behind the sprig followed by a silver tag twine. Some texture paste was also added to the pine sprig.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Hearts Come Home
Inks:  Pool Party, Marina Mist, Stampin' Blendabilities, Versa Mark
Papers:  Thick Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Mini Pizza Box
Accessories:  Layering Square Framelits,  Home Town Greetings Edgelets, White Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, 1/2" Powder Pink ribbon, Pine sprig, mini ornament, Silver tag twine, Texture Paste, hot glue gun. Pizza box (mini), Brayer

Hearts Come Home Pizza Box Christmas Ornament - a case

When I saw this on Pinterest I thought "What a neat idea".  This ornament, was made by Monica Gale here using a Mini Pizza Box.

Although I used a lot of her ideas I did change up a few things.

I started  by sponging the open pizza box lid in Pool Party, and then die cut an aperture in it using the scallop square of the Layering Square framelits.

The die cut images were built on the scallop cut out.

After the houses were die cut, I coloured them with the new blendabilities and applied dazzling diamonds to the roofs and bases of the houses. To make the houses look like the lights were on, I placed some gold foil behind each house.

The house at the end was cut off from the strip and added in the middle and above the other houses. All were added using dimensionals.

The art piece was then added to the inside of the box using dimensionals, and the box was closed.

Above is a close up of the art piece after I adhered it to the inside of the box.

To fill in the space at the front of the box I added some embossing paste and added dazzling diamonds on top of that.

To finish off the ornament, I wrapped the box with  1/2" Powder Pink ribbon and tied it in a bow at  the top.  I added a green pine sprig and a mini ornament tied with silver trim.  I also added some embossing paste to the pine branch.

Supplies Used:
Inks:  Stampin' Blendabilites, Pool Party
Papers:  Thick Whisper White, gold foil.
Accessories:  Mini Pizza Box, Layering Square Framelits, Hearts Come Home Edgelit dies, Green Pine sprig, mini ornament, silver trim, embossing paste, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, 1/2" Powder Pink ribbon

Daisy Note Cards in a Pizza Box

I just love those mini Pizza boxes in the new Holiday Catalogue.  They are such wonderful containers for mini note cards.  Other years I have had to make my own little boxes - this year I don't.  Great isn't it?

For these note cards I die cut images directly from the Daisy Delight DSP using the stitched oval framelits.

Inside the decorated pizza box are 6 (six) 2 3/4 by 2 3/4" Whisper White note cards and 6 (six) mini envelopes (also in the Holiday catalogue)

The front of each note card was stamped with a non SU script stamp using Smoky Slate ink.  Then across the middle I added a strip of Daisy Delight DSP.
On top of this I added (with the small dimensionals) 2 die cut images from the Daisy Delight DSP - one a little smaller than the other.  At the bottom of the larger one a bow made with the 1/8" gold taffeta ribbon was added.

You can't really see it from the picture, but some clear Wink of Stella was applied to each of the flowers.

The pizza box was decorated in a similar manner to the note cards, except I added a Night of Navy mat to the box front first.

This time I added a larger oval die cut and a smaller circle die cut, overlapping each other at the bottom.

Sunflower mint note cards in a Pizza Box

One of the new items in the upcoming fall catalogue are mini 4 by 4"  Pizza boxes - perfect for putting treats in, or putting mini note cards in.  Since the catalogue also includes 3 by 3white  envelopes I decided to make some note card sets using the Autumn Harvest DSP.

The Pizza Boxes are white so they can be decorated for any occasion.
I made 6 mini note cards and placed them in a decorated pizza box (at the back) along with 6 envelopes.

The note cards are 2 3/4 by 2 3/4" and are layered with Oh So Eclectic DSP.

Decorating the top is a Daisy I fussy cut from the Autumn Harvest DSP, along with a Garden Green leaf punched with the new Leaf punch.  In the center of the Daisy is a Gold glitter gem.

The sentient "Just a Note" is from Picture Perfect is punched with the Word Window Punch.

The top of the box was decorated in the same manner, although I added an extra sunflower and leaf.

Below is  a close up of one of the note cards.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Picture Perfect
Ink:  Tranquil Tide
Paper:  Whisper White, Oh So Eclectic DSP, Autumn Harvest DSP, Garden Green
Accessories:  Leaf Punch, Gold glitter gem, Word Label Punch, Mini Pizza Box
