Be Cool - Penguin and the Penguin Punch - PCC434- A Sneak Preview

My preorder arrived yesterday so for the horizontal sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew Challenge 434 (PCC) I combined a couple of free Sale-a-bration (SAB) products as well as some products from the new Mini Catalogue which goes live on August.

Penguins are so cute and have long been associated with Christmas, so when I saw them in the catalogue I was excited.  The stamp set and Penguin Builder punch were used to make this card.  I also included a couple of DSP from the SAB that coordinate with this stamp and punch combo.

The Penguin:
I used the stamp set only for the sentiment as the Penguin was made using the Penguin Builder punch.  The body was punched in Basic Black; the tummy and face in Basic White and the feet in Pumpkin Pie.  The nose was cut from one of the toes of the feet, and the eyes were drawn in with a fine tipped black marker.
I hand fit a scarf for around the neck, using some of the SAB DSP, trimming it to fit around the neck. In retrospect I could have used one of the stamps for this
The completed Penguin was added, with Dimensionals, to a Scallop circle die cut in Misty Moonlight.

This was added to the card front again using dimensionals.

The card:
The card base is Misty Moonlight, layered with Fresh Freesia card stock. Two patterns of the Penguin Playmates DSP (SAB) were added to this layer, with a 1/8" strip of Misty Moonlight over the seam.

For the embellishments, I used one of the snowflake dies from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set to die cut 3 snowflakes using the spectacular free "Be Dazzling" DSP

The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut from the Merry Messages die.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Penguin Place

Papers:  Misty Moonlight, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Penguin Playmates DSP (SAB), Be Spectacular DSP (SAB)
