Wrapped in Bouquet

When I first saw this stamp set I was fascinated by it but quickly realized that working with this stamp would require a different approach. Stamping this image the traditional way resulted in a black and white image - until I realized that I could stamp it in the traditional way, just use a different colour of ink - Basic Gray.

This resulted in an image that could be coloured using Stampin' Blend markers.

So after stamping with Basic Gray, I coloured the flowers with both the dark and light shades of the following colours:  Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Gorgeous Grape.  The leaves were coloured with both shades of Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.
The bouquet was filled with die cut foliage stems in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

The newspaper bouquet was stamped with Basic Gray ink using the Stamparatus and then die cut.   I then added Basic Gray ink over both the front and back of this die cut piece using one of the new blender brushes.  Then I folded it into a bouquet using the scored lines as a guide.

The completed bouquet of flowers was then added to the folded newspaper.  To stabilize both pieces I placed a strip of card stock behind it extending into the folded newspaper.

The newsprint stamp was stamped twice close together using Basic Gray ink, and die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die.  As before, I applied some Basic Gray ink over this piece using a blender brush.

This piece was added to an embossed layer of the new pearlized paper, which in turn was added to a Daffodil Delight layer on a Pear Pizzazz top folding card base.

To add a touch of gold I added some 3/8" Fine Art ribbon around the center of the card as well as a bow near the base of the flower bundle.
