Over the Moon Christmas - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #416

This is officially my first Christmas card which I made for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday. The sketch comes with an optional theme of "Christmas in July". I used a stamp set one would ordinarily not consider a Christmas stamp, but I think I made it work.

The card base is Cherry Cobbler card stock, layered with Whisper White embossed with the Bead and  Bauble embossing folder, a  great folder for a Christmas card.

A 2 1/2" strip of a plaid pattern from the retired Festive Farmhouse DSP was added horizontally across this embossed layer. To give the card a more festive look, a  1/8" strip of gold foil paper was added above and  below the DSP.

At the bottom and top of the card front is adhered a small strip of cherry Cobbler card stock rounded at one end. A gold faceted gem is added to this piece.

In the center is a Whisper White art piece.  The cow from "Over the Moon" was stamped near the bottom and coloured with Stampin' Blends.  I stamped a gift box (Ready for Christmas) on the ground in front of the cow.  At the top is the sentiment (Farmhouse Christmas), stamped using a Basic Black marker. Three ornaments (Ready for Christmas) are suspended below the sentiment.  The string from the sentiment to the ornaments was hand drawn.

A Christmas card needs glitter and snow, so I used the snow stamp from Farmhouse Christmas and Balmy Blue ink to stamp snow in the sky.  Glitter was added by randomly dabbing a glue pen and sprinkling Dazzling Diamonds over that.  Below the cow some snow is made using liquid applique and Dazzling Diamonds. Unfortunately I could not capture the glitter with my camera.

The image panel is matted with Cherry Cobbler card stock and mounted to the card front using dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Over the Moon, Ready for Christmas, Farmhouse Christmas
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Basic Black, Ivory, Daffodil Delight, Lovely Lipstick, :  Balmy Blue, Basic Black marker
Papers:  Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Farmhouse Christmas DSP, Gold foil
Accessories:  Gold faceted gem, Corner rounded punch, Bead and Bauble embossing folder, Liquid Applique (non SU), Dazzling Diamonds
