Wishing for Spring...

Yesterday was the coldest day on record with some areas of the province at minus 50 degrees C.  Here in Peterborough it was minus 32.  Cold, cold, cold!!!  And lots of snow.  Everyday it seems to snow a little bit, just to make the roads slippery, and the snow plough to come out and bury the mouth of the driveway.

You can understand why this stamp featuring a robin with baby chicks appealed to me.  It is from the stamp set "Flying Home"

The image was stamped on a piece of Whisper White embossed with an embossing folder with an oval embossing (non SU).  The embossing as well as the edges were lightly sponged with Soft Suede.  I also stamped some texture "dots" in Crumb Cake around the image.

The image was coloured with the new Stampin' Blendabilities.

The art piece was layered onto some Petal Garden DSP.  This particular piece in Calypso Coral did not have a pattern on it and thus was perfect for the image.  After the art piece and DSP were adhered together, I added some 1/8" Calypso Coral ribbon and bow, and this was adhered to a Soft Suede base.

Happy Birthday little chicks!
