Elements of Style - Shades of Pink

I did this card for the Paper Players colour challenge:  Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Pretty in Pink, but I missed the deadline which  was yesterday.
Seeing as I had it done, I'll post it on my blog.
I used the Layering with Markers technique i.e. starting with the lightest colour and gradually working up to the darkest colour - the same technique used in watercolouring and painting.

Only the flowers were coloured with markers.  First they were lightly coloured with Pretty in Pink; then a layer of Regal Rose was applied, but not to the complete flower.  Some of the Pretty in Pink needs to show.  Finally, a tiny bit of Rose Red was applied to provide for shading and depth.
To add extra interest, the Versamarker was used to apply Versa Mark to the flowers and they were embossed with Iridescent embossing powder.  You should see them sparkle!!

Next the Humming Bird was coloured directly on the stamp - Pretty in Pink for the body; Regal Rose for the head and tail.  The bird was then outlined with Rose Red, cut out, embossed with clear embossing powder and attached to the card with a stampin dimensional.  A tiny pearl became the eye.

Here's a close up of the humming bird.
