This is only the first of a series of birthday cards I will be making - not for this challenge - but for my craft show next weekend.
This birthday card is a bit different. I saw a similar card in Paper Crafts magazine and decided to partially CASE it. This technique is a great way to feature designer paper and the new Simply Scoring tool.
Inks: Early Espresso
Paper: Base card is Very Vanilla card stock 5 by 10 scored at 5" to make a 5" square card.
Paisley Prints Designer paper is cut into 1 by 4 1/2" pieces and notched at one end using a 1/4" square punch (I used 5 pieces). All edges sponged with Early Espresso.
Old Olive card stock is cut into a 1 by 1 1/2" strip which is scored every 1/4" and formed into a rosette. A 3/4" circle of Marina Mist was mounted on top of a 1" Baja Breeze circle and placed on top of the rosette.
The sentiment is stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and punched out with a Scalloped oval punch.
Accessories: Punches: 1/4" square, 3/4" circle, 1" circle, scallop oval; sticky page, Simply Scored tool, Antique brad, 1/2" Chantilly Lace crochet trim, pearls, stampin dimensionals
