Designer Shoes with candy in cello packs for Thanksgiving

In my previous blog post I showed you a picture of some paper shoes I had made for Halloween.  Unfortunately you didn't really get a good look at the shoe (I was too enthusiastic about decorating it).  I made some shoes for Thanksgiving and I think this time the picture shows the shoe a little better, as well as the 3 cello packs filled with candy.

I again used retired designer Thanksgiving paper, and decorated the shoe with autumn leaves die cut using the  Autumn Accents  die.  The acorn and two of the leaves I covered with orange glitter and 
 attached the leave on the cello candy, and the acorn on the decoration of one of the cello packs. The remaining leaf was left with the cluster on the shoe top.  On top of the leaves I placed an orange rose made using the spiral flower die.  An Olive Green leaf die cut using the mini leaf sizzlet die was placed just under the rose.

The Chevron ribbon was tied around the shoe and also near the top of the cello packs.

The cello packs were decorated using the For All Things  Stamp Set.

Rosette Wreath - a CASE

I saw this Rosette wreath on Pinterest and was absolutely fascinated by it, so I made one too.  It was originally created by Mary Haugan (I think that's the name), and what a wonderful job she did.
Here is mine.  It is not exactly the same, but close enough.

The Rosette is made using Flowerpot DSP.  The center is made using the framelets from Starburst Sayings and Circle Framelits.  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder on Crumb Cake card stock and die cut using the Apothecary accent framelit.  A piece of burlap ribbon is adhered behind the center piece.  A rose made with the Spiral Flower die completes the wreath.

Rose Gift Card

I had my morning coffee outside on the deck this morning and what a beautiful day!  Sitting in the sunshine, drinking my coffee, and looking out onto the lush garden was my way of starting a perfect day.  My cat, Mischief, was waiting for me just inside the screen door, occasionally meowing wanting me to come in.  He likes to cuddle before he goes to bed for the day, so he wanted me to come in so he could climb up on my lap and get lovins'.  Of course, after I finished my coffee, I obliged.

The black cat is Mischief; the black and white one is Wizard.  I lost him 2 years ago to kidney stones, and we both miss him very much.  When Wizard was alive, Mischief used to cuddle with Wizard; now he cuddles with me.

Yesterday I mentioned that I got a call from a customer who wanted a special card for a special occasion.  What she wanted was a 4 by 3" card, off white in colour, layered in black, with a 3D yellow rose on the front. She is going to insert this card into a bouquet of Roses.
Here is what I came up with:

I used the spiral flower die to make the rose, and used a left over wire stem (from a flower kit) to attach to the Rose.  The leaves are from the Petite Leaves die.  They were attached to the stem using floral tape.
The black card stock was embossed with 2 types of embossing folders just to give it a bit of dimension.  The edges were distressed as well.

Candy Dispenser

I've seen this candy dispenser on Pinterest a number of times but there was never a tutorial with it.  Finally I found one done by Sandra Hanadanian and she provided a tutorial here so I could finally make one.  The tutorial is not the easiest to follow, but I managed to problem solve my way through it.

Valentine Paper Mug

After searching for something 3D to make in my Valentine's Day class, I came across a video on how to make paper mugs.  Perfect!!
Here is the mug I made.

I used the tutorial from this video here .  I chose not to do the stamping, which is excellently shown on this video.

Dimensions to make the mug are as follows:
1.  Card stock or designer paper 8 1/2 by by 4 1/2"
2.  Cut a 1 1/2 by 4 1/2" piece of cardstock/DSP for the handle
2.  On the 4 1/2" side score at 1 1/2"
3.  On the 8 1/2" side score at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8"
Follow the instructions in the video on how to make the mug.
It's fairly easy and filled with candy/object makes a wonderful gift/favour.  I chose to fill it with Valentine kisses

I made the mug using Real Red cardstock, and placed Red Glimmer hearts between each score line.  A piece of  gold sequin trim was attached around the bottom.  Then the mug was glued to a doilie using a hot glue gun.
The roses were made using the spiral flower die - one in Pink Pirouette, one in Primrose petals and the third in Very Vanilla.
