Reverse Words - Fab Friday #107

A number of my students have requested information on how to use the new SAB "Reverse Words" stamp set.
I used the opportunity, for the sketch challenge with Fab Friday to use this stamp set.

I did make a card with a doillie under the sentiment band, but changed my mind and made a rosette    using a 18" one inch strip of Delightful Dijon DSP instead.

Because of that, the long rectangular sentiment piece did not look right. So, after stamping the sentiment,  I elected to die cut it with the layering oval framelits and mat it with a scalloped oval Delightful Dijon piece of card stock.  This I adhered to the top of the rosette. I think, shape wise, it looks better.

How did I colour the sentiment?  I tried using finger daubers to apply the 3 different ink colors:  Delightful Dijon, Bermuda Bay, and Calypso Coral, but could not get the effect I wanted, so I used markers instead.

Some silver metallic enamel shapes provided the bling I always seem to need.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Reverse Words
Inks: SU Markers: Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Delightful Dijon
Papers: Delightful Dijon, Very Vanilla, Mosaic DSP, Delightful Dijon DSP
Accessories: Layering Oval Framelits, Scoring Tool, 1" circle punch, Metallic enamel embellishments, hot glue gun.

Here is the original card I made using a doily instead of a rosette.

Butterfly Thank You - Sketch Frenzy Friday

We had some snow and freezing rain today and its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  Since I've finished making my Christmas cards, I thought I would make some Thank You cards.  I used the sketch challenge with Sketch Frenzy Friday here to design the card.

The base card is Tangerine Tango layered with Very Vanilla and then Venetian Romance designer paper and a white doily on the left border.
Three butterflies were stamped on Whisper White card stock and coloured with markers.  Some orange stampin' glitter was adhered to the surface of each butterfly.  They were arranged on the doily as indicated above.
The sentiment was stamped with Basic Black on Very Vanilla and matted with Basic Black card stock.

Stamps:  Backyard Basics, Lots of Thanks
Inks: Black Stazon, Basic Black, SU markers (tangerine tango, Basic Black)
Papers: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Venetian Romance designer paper
Accessories: White doily, Orange stampin' glitter, Backyard Basics framelits

Love and Sympathy - Friday Mashup #21

It's been a few days since I posted.  I've been going through a tough time.  First I had complications from my foot surgery.  An infection set in and has me generally feeling "blah".  Then I heard that the husband of a friend and a customer of mine had died.
So I took the opportunity today to use the 'bossy and sketchy' challenge here with the Friday Mashup to make a sympathy card and send it off to her.
What's the 'bossy and sketchy' about?  The 'sketchy' is to make a card using the sketch challenge; the 'bossy' means to include some dry embossing on the card.

Stamps: Love & Sympathy, Teeny Tiny wishes
Inks: Melon mambo, Basic black, SU Markers (Melon Mambo, Old Olive)
Papers: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Flirtatious Designer Paper
Accessories: Scallop border punch, Finial Press embossing folder, 1 3/4" circle punch, Circle die #2, Word Window punch, 5/8" white satin ribbon, Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon, Pearls, dazzling diamonds, dimensionals, doily from Flirtatious designer paper
