Lovely Lily Get Well - Hand Stamped Sentiments #334

Challenge #334 with Hand Stamped Sentiments  is an inspirational one. It was difficult initially to select how  I would respond to this challenge as I saw so many possibilities.  However, I settled on focusing on water lilies.

The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and its coordinating Lily Pad dies is a current SAB offering, free with an order of $120.  SAB will be over the end of this month, which motivated me to use this particular option for the challenge.

I started by white embossing the images on watercolour paper.  Each image was then 'washed' with the desired colour using an ink pad and an aqua painter with highlights added  with Stampin' Blends.  They were then die cut.

The back drop for the images i.e  the pond, is the Lily Impressions DSP which was embossed with the retired Seaside Embossing Folder. The cracks made in the DSP looks like waves in the pond.  This layer was matted with Whisper White and then Garden Green card stock before being added, at an angle, to a Whisper White card base.

The large and small lilies were adhered with dimensionals; the Lily pads adhered directly to the DSP below them.  An additonal small lily pad coloured in Granny Apple Green was added above the smaller flower.

Along the right edge was added a die cut trim that was sponged lightly with Proud Peacock ink.

The sentiment from "Timeless Tulips"  is die cut using one of the dies from the "Sending Flowers" die and added to the card front using dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Lovely Lily Pad, Timeless Tulip
Inks:  Versa Mark, Proud Peacock, Blackberry Bliss, Stampin' Blends (Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Proud Peacock, Granny Apple Green)
Papers:  Whisper White, Garden Green, Lily Impressions DSP, Watercolour Paper
Accessories:  Lily Pad Dies, White embossing powder, Sending Flowers die, dimensionals, Seaside Embossing Folder, Aqua painter

Anything Winter - Sparkles Christmas Challenge #96, SUO Challenge #214

When I think of winter I think of short gray days, days with little sunshine, and days with snowstorms.

This is what I tried to depict in this card that I am submitting to  Sparkles Christmas Challenge #96  "Add Sparkle", as well as SUO Challenge #214 "Anything Winter"

The tree from "Sheltering Tree" was white embossed as well as the tree foliage and the ground below the tree.  Snow is falling.  The background is Smokey Slate

A bright spot of colour are the 2 cardinals, embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  The birds are from "Thoughtful Branches"

On the ground, I apply shimmer embossing paste,  I also dab it on the tree branches, and while it is wet I add some glittering dazzling diamonds.

This art piece is matted with another piece of Smokey Slate.  The edges of both pieces are sponged with Basic Gray ink.

The card base is Smokey Slate card stock layered with Glimmer card stock.  A piece of 3/8" Basic Gray shimmer ribbon is added to the glimmer paper before it is added to the card front, and a double bow added at the side.

The sentiment, which is embossed with black embossing powder, is from "Petal Palette"

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Petal Palette, Thoughtful Branches, Sheltering Tree
Ink:  Versa Mark, Basic Gray
Papers:  Smokey Slate, Shimmer Glitter paper
Accessories:  3/8" shimmer Basic Gray ribbon, White embossing powder, Black embossing powder, Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, Shimmer Texture paste, Dazzling diamonds
