I Love You Sister - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #313

My sister has been facing some major health problems and today I made a card for her. I used the sketch by Vicki to make this card as a member of the design team at Try Stampin' on Tuesday. Because the theme was "Beautiful Flowers" I made flowers as the main focal point.

This card is all about 3's.  Three ovals, three flowers, three ovals, three layers, and challenge 313.  Plus my sister is one of 3 children.

I began by creating the focal image.  Three small ovals were die cut in Whisper White card stock and matted with a slightly larger Rich Razzelberry scalloped ovals. All the edges of the ovals were sponged with Rich Razzelberry ink.

Three petite flowers were punched in Blushing Bride cardstock and the edges sponged with Rich Razzelberry ink. Two flowers were also punched with Pear Pizzazz card stock. They were cut into individual pieces to become the leaves for the flowers. After snipping between the petals, a paint brush handle was used to curl them up.  Two stamens were inserted in the middle; the leaves adhered and then they were added to the middle of the 3 ovals.

On the other 2 ovals, some stamping was done, and again, they were matted with Scalloped Rich Razzelberry cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped in a banner which was punched using the Dual Banner punch.  One nice thing about photopolymer stamps is that they can be bent to go around a curve.

The ovals and the sentiment were adhered to the card front, which consists of a Rich Razzelberry base matted with Whisper White and then Falling in Love DSP.

And, of course, no card is complete without bling.  So, I added a gold metallic enamel heart embellishment to both sides of the sentiment and on the middle oval.

Seaside Shore Shaker Birthday - Paper Craft Crew Challenge # 204

After supper I went into the garden to do some more pruning and deadheading, and decided to cut back my coreopsis which had grown really tall.  With this plant in full bloom, the weight of the flowers  were  causing the plant to bend over some of the other perennials blocking their light.  So, I trimmed it back, using the flower stems to make an arrangement for  my patio table.

Later in this post you will see a picture of this card in the flowers.


After making the double fold card featured in the previous post, I had some stamped and cut fish left over, so, for the sketch challenge with Paper Craft Crew Challenge I made a shaker card using these left over fish.  I never like to throw anything away.

• I first created the front of the card, using Very Vanilla, and the Seaside Shore DSP (two patterns separated by a 1/4" strip of Calypso Coral cardstock).   Through this layer, an oval was die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits.  This was used to create the ovals  shaker  element
