A Pair of Skates - Sketch Frenzy Friday

My the weeks are going by fast!!.  August is gone - September is here and so is school and back to work.  The remnants of Isaac created a very wet start to the school day.  But, the rain was much needed so I'm not really complaining.
So, today it's Friday, and time for another mini blog hop with Sketch Frenzy Friday. Hope you can join us.
Today's sketch is by Deb Currier

09/07/12 Deb Currier

Technique:
The card base is Riding Hood Red, layered with Whisper White.
On the Whisper White layer, the image of the skates was stamped with Black Stazon and colored with markers and SU markers.  The intent was to create a vintage feel.
Some cherry cobbler dazzling details was applied to the berries .
A small star was punched using the tiny star punch - to hide a mistake in stamping.  Embellishments are really good at doing that.
The scalloped glimmer red was die cut using the Tasteful trim die.

Stamp: Winter Memories
Inks: Black Stazon, SU markers
Papers: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Tasteful trim die, Tiny star punch, Aqua painter

Now its your turn to create something using Deb's sketch.  When finished, upload it to the Sketch Frenzy Friday home page here
Then take some time to visit the blogs of the other team members to see their interpretation of the sketch.
Your next stop on the tour is Patrice's blog here  She usually has something interesting to show you.

Stay well, and I'll see you next week.

Here is my card:
I turned the image panel on its side to accommodate my stamp.

Snowman: Image was stamped with Black Stazon, and colored with watercolor pencils and blended with no odor paint thinner.  Some cherry cobbler dazzling details was applied to the red scarf and the red parts of the hat.  Dazzling details was also applied to the cuff of the hat.
The image was die cut using the labels framelits.  This was framed with red glimmer paper.
Embellishment: Two small snowfakes were die cut, one is Whisper White and one is from Red glimmer paper.  The white was painted with Frost white shimmer paint and when dry it was attached to the red one with a glue dot.  A 1/2" circle of Red glimmer paper was punched and placed under a small designer vintage faceted button.  A bow of white baker's twine completed the embellishment.

Season's Greetings with the Open Sleigh - Just Add Ink 127

The weather has cooled down significantly here and it's actually enjoyable to be outdoors.  If only I could make cards on my back deck - but it's been too windy.  We're actually in dire need of rain - haven't had any for a couple of weeks and the farmers are beginning to get worried.  Forest fires are also popping up in northern Ontario and campers in Algonquin park were put on notice to be ready to evaculate.
Yesterday I made a card using the Open Sleigh, and experimented with various color combinations including black and white.  I did not use the black and white one on yesterday's card, but decided to use it on the card for the color challenge with Just Add Ink here
The color challenge:  black , whisper white and any other colour I wanted.  I chose to use the Red Glimmer paper.
