A Poinsettia in Vanilla and Green

Instead of the traditional red Poinsettia, the Poinsettia on this card is Very Vanilla and Green. Shimmery Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds were added to the floral edges.

Tote Bag with Poinsettia Flower

.The tote was made with Merry Moments DSP and Real Red Cardstock.  I punched Real Red Petite flowers before adding the silver mini brads to the handles.

.To made the flower, I punched all the elements 4 times using Real Red cardstock.  The center was punched separately using Hello Honey cardstock.  The leaves were punched with Old Olive cardstock and then stamped to get the leaf markings, using Always Artichoke ink and the  "Reason for the Season" stamp.  The stampens were sponged lightly with Real Red.

.All petals were sponged with Cherry Cobbler ink; the leaves with Always Artichoke.

.I also curled and shaped the petals prior to putting the flower together.

.I punched a 1" circle punch upon which the flower petals would be built.

.Using a hot glue gun, I attached each petal to the circle, starting with the larger ones, and then adding the smaller ones on top.  The stamens were added last.

.Then I added the leaves, and attached the now finished flower to the side of the tote bag.

French Foliage Poinsettia - Create with Connie & Mary #229

I thought I was finished making Christmas cards, but I just couldn't resist one more, expecially when the sketch with Create with Connie & Mary here was calling for a poinsettia flower.  I used the stamp set French Foliage to make the flower.

 

I started out by stamping 13 leaves from the French Foliage stamp set using Cherry cobbler ink onto Very Vanilla card stock.  They were embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out.  Each leaf was then placed in a 3/4" circle to which tombo glue had been applied.  Seven (7) leaves were in the bottom row, and six (6) on the top row.  A 3/4" champagne glitter circle was attached to the middle, and a red glimmer brad inserted in the middle of that and  the flower was finished off nicely.

The leaves were also from the same stamp set, but were stamped using Gumball green on Very Vanilla cardstock. After cutting out, they were attached to the bottom of the flower. The Poinsettia was attached to the card using dimensionals.

French Foliage Poinsetta - Create with Connie & Mary #221

I'm having trouble sleeping tonight so I thought I'd get up and make some cards.
This card is for the sketch challenge with Create with Connie & Mary #211 here

 

The poinsettia was made by stamping the leaf image of the French Foliage stamp set with Raspberry Ripple ink onto Cherry Cobbler card stock and embossing them with Vanilla embossing powder.  This was done 12 times. Embossing with the scented embossing powder is a very aromatic experience!!  The larger leaves (3 of them) were stamped with Garden Green ink onto Gumball Green card stock and also embossed with Vanilla embossing powder. Each leaf was then cut out and glued to a 1 1/4" circle. The larger leaves were attached to the underside of the poinsettia. The center of the flower is a Boho blossom punched in Summer Starfruit sponged with Raspberry Ripple.  A gold glimmer brad completes the flower.

The poinsettia was mounted onto a 2 1/2" champagne glimmer circle, which was attached to a large paper doily painted with Champagne glimmer paint. The outer edge of the doily was removed to size it better for the card.
