A New Catalogue preview - Ornate garden bundle

With all the craziness everywhere,  it is important to do activities, like crafting, that prevent boredom and  promote mental health.

I have been staying home, not because I have the virus, but because I have a lot of risk factors that would make me very ill should I get it.

So, I am taking this opportunity to catch up on neglected tasks and to make samples of new products coming in the new Annual Catalogue in June. One of the new items is the Ornate Garden bundle, which will be available for customer order on April 1 (see link to flyer below).

Today I am sharing an envelope card, with a written tutorial, made using the products from this suite.

Card Base: 

• Score  9 1/2 by 5 1/2" Thick White card stock at 3 and 7"
• Fold down at  3" score line to form card flap; fold up at 7" score line to form a 2 1/2" pocket.
• Burnish all folds.
• Adhere pocket edges to card base using tear and tape adhesive.

Lid: 

• Round the corners of the top  lid using the Detailed Trio Punch
• Emboss a 5 1/4 by 2 1/4" of Pear Pizzazz card stock with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, round the  tw front corners , and adhere to the lid.
• Die cut a strip of gold foil with the Ornate border die and adhere to the edge of the lid.
• Add a 5 1/4 by 2 1/2" piece of Ornate Garden DSP (Old Olive with gold metallic pattern) to the pocket. 

Floral Image:

•  Stamp and colour the floral image from the Ornate Thanks stamp set on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock.  
• Fussy cut and adhere  at an angle, to the lid, using dimensionals, overlapping the edge.  
• Add crystal effects and dazzling diamonds to the flower edges and centers.

Ribbon: 

• Make a bow with the 1/4" Old Olive ribbon and add to the floral stem.

Sentiment:

•  Gold emboss the sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set and die cut with the Ornate Frames die.  Adhere to lower pocket.

Embellishment: 

• Add 3 designer elements to the left of the lid.

Card Insert:  

• Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4 3/4 by 3 3/4" for the card insert.  
• Round all corners.
• Gold emboss the top corners with the corner stamp
• Add a 1/2 by 4 1/2" piece of the same DSP as on the pocket to the bottom of this insert.  Add a 1/8" by 4 1/2" strip of gold foil above that.
• Insert in card pocket.

Ornate Garden thanks - a new catalogue sneak

The Ornate Garden Bundle is one of the new products from the new annual catalogue coming in June, 2020. It will be available for customer purchase on April 1.

The bundle contains a stamp set, a set of Ornate Dies, a set of Edgelet dies, DSP, two rolls of ribbon, an embossing folder, and some metallic embellishments (see picture below)

Below is a  card made by this bundle.

These dies are very Ornate. And I must admit to being somewhat overwhelmed by them.  So, I started with a single simple image which I stamped on one of the smaller of the ornate die cuts.

This was matted with a larger Old Olive ornate die cut.

The card base if Old Olive, layered first with Whisper White and then with Old Olive So Very Vellum DSP.  The art piece is added to the card front using dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the new stamp set  "Ornate Thanks".  The piece of Whisper White has the bottom edge die cut using an Ornate Border die and then added to the bottom of the art piece using dimensionals.

The bundle comes with 2 rolls of ribbon, one of which (old Olive) was tied into a bow and added to the flower stem.

To finish the card, some gilded gems were added randomly to the art piece ,with one being placed in the flower center.
