Flower Power Try Stampin on Tuesday #452

The flowers in my garden are not yet in bloom - not even close.  They are valiantly trying to sticking their heads up out of the ground, but it is still too cold.

Yet the drawing power of the garden is evident by the frequency I am drawn there- just to look/see

The card was made for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #452, the theme for which was "flower power"

The A2 Terracotta Tile card base is layered with Whisper White embossed with the 3D Ornate Floral Embossing Folder.  A piece of Ornate Garden DSP (multiple terracotta, pink/white flowers) is added on the bottom quarter.

Flowers adhered to die cuts are added to the card front alternating above and below the edge of the DSP.

Flowers:

The small blossom punch was used to punch Whisper White flowers (2 for each flower) the petals of which were inked with Terracotta Ink, spritzed with alcohol, crumpled and allowed to dry partially. After partially uncrumpling them more there were allowed to dry before shaping them a bit. 

Two petals were also punched using the Petal punch.  Old Olive was used to colour these leaves and they were treated the same as the flowers.  The leaves were snipped off the stem to form individual leaves.

To make a flower, two completed flowers were adhered together alternating petals. Two leaves were adhered to the bottom of each flower.

Each flower was adhered to a die cut Terracotta Ornate Frame which was adhered to the card front at the edge of the DSP.

Sentiment:

The sentiment, from Another Thank You, is stamped on Whisper White card stock, in Old Olive ink, then die cut with an Ornate Frame Die.

Another larger, more ornate frame, is die cut in Terracotta Tile card stock, and the Whisper White die cut is adhered to the larger one using dimensionals.

This is then added,centered,to the top half of the card front.

A ribbon, made with a 3/8" Old Olive ribbon (which is part of the Ornate Garden bundle) is added at the bottom of the sentiment.

To finish, some Crystal Effects was added  to the flowers, and while it was wet, some Dazzling Diamonds was lightly dusted over the flowers.

Three Gilded Gems were added to the upper right.

Flower Pot Easel Card

It's spring, and I'm in the mood to make flowers - paper flowers.

So, I grabbed my supplies - punches, inks, daubers, shaping tools, alcohol spritz, adhesives AND my flower pot template which I obtained from Frog's Whiskers ink, a local craft store. For over 2 hours I was lost in a wonderful 'zone', a place where COVID-19 could not reach.

Here's the result:

A Terracotta Tile card base is decorated with the Ornate Garden DSP (small floral pattern).  Old Olive card stock die cut with the Ornate Layer Dies provide a base for Whisper White sentiment pieces.
Various punches were used to make the flowers  and leaves (listed below)

All were punched with Whisper White card stock, and colour applied using finger daubers and various colours of ink.  After colouring, all flowers/leaves were spritzed with alcohol, crumpled, and then straightened a bit and allowed to dry.

Once dry they were shaped with flower shaping tools, adhered together -2 per flower) alternating petals, with tiny beads added to the centers.

The flowers/leaves were then added to the top of the flower pot. Below is a close up of the flowers.

A second sentiment, stamped in Terracotta Tile ink, also matted with Old Olive card stock die cut with the Ornate layering die provides a 'door stop' for the easel. It is adhered to the flower pot base

Two left over flowers are added on either side of the sentiment

This extra large card will close but will need a bubble envelope or box for mailing.

A New Beginning - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #451

We all wish for a new beginning, especially at times like this, when a virus is destroying the world as we know it.

In addition, the calendar says Spring, but one look out the window makes that a lie!  The snow, although light, is most unwelcome.

Regardless, I wanted to reflect Spring and a new beginning, by creating 3D Daisies, on the card I made for the sketch challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #451.  The sketch is a throwback to Sketch #98 

This card, with a Mint Macaron base, if 5 by 5" and is layered with Whisper White and then 2 pieces of the new Ornate Garden DSP.

The larger piece has a Mint Macaron background with gold embossing; the smaller piece has Daisies all over it - thus my inspiration.

The Dollie die is non SU, and what attracted me to this die is the small Daisy-like flowers in the center of each scallop edge.  On the Doillie are added 3 Daisies - one large and 2 small.

The Large Daisy is made from Whisper White card stock using the Daisy punch.  Daffodil Delight ink is applied to the petals of  the two punched flowers and some Soft Suede in the center.  Each flower is shaped using a stylus, adhered together alternating petals, and a Perennial Floral Center added to each flower.

The small Daisies are made using the small Daisy punch, where the two punched flowers are treated the same way as the large Daisy.

A flower is not complete without a leaf.  So, each flower has a leaf punched using  the Leaf Punch.The Old Olive leaves are sponged with Old Olive ink, shaped and added to each Daisy.

Both completed Daisies are adhered to the Doillie as depicted in the picture.

To finish the card, Gilded Gems are added randomly to the sentiment and card base.

Ornate Wedding Card

The Ornate Border Dies are absolutely gorgeous in gold foil, so I paired the gold foil floral border die cut with the gold patterned Ornate Garden DSP.  The result - a wedding card.

Ornate Garden Buckle Card

It's getting harder to self isolate during is Covid-19 pandemic so I'm continuing to challenge myself to create at least one project per day.
Today's project is a card fold I have seen often on Pinterest and You Tube - a Buckle Card - using the Ornate Garden DSP, which is part of an Ornate Garden bundle available for order as of April 1

Card Base and Strap

• Mint Macaron is one of the colours in the Ornate Garden DSP so I chose that for the card base and the buckle strap.
• Cut a 4 1/4 by 8 1//2" piece of Mint Macaron card stock and score at 3".  Fold at the score line to form the card fold. Burnish.
• Cut a 2 by 4 1/4" piece of Mint Macaron and score at 1".  This is the strap. Fold at score line and burnish fold.
• Add adhesive to the inside of the 1" fold line of the strap and add to the middle of the wrong side of the 2 by 4 1/4" piece of DSP. (gold pattern on a Mint Macaron background) 
• Adhere to inside of card.
• Stamp a sentiment on a 2 1/4 by 4" piece of Whisper White and adhere to the inside next to the DSP.

Card Front:

• Add a 2 3/4 by 4" piece of DSP (Daisy pattern) to front flap.
• Using the Classic Label Punch, punch an opening for the card strap 1/2" from edge of card front. Insert the strap in the opening.

Embellishment:

• Using a scrap piece of  Whisper White card stock,  punch 4 flowers using the Small Daisy Punch.  Apply Daffodil Delight ink to the flower petals and Soft Suede to the centers.  Shape flowers and add 2 together alternating petals (2 flowers).  Add a Perrential Essence Floral center to each flower center.
• Punch 4 leaves in Old Olive using the Leaf Punch. Shape and add 2 leaves to each flower.
• To cover the buckle opening, die cut a Stitched So Sweetly Die.  Stamp a sentiment near the bottom. Add to the card front with dimensionals.
• Add one flower/leaf to this die cut.
• Add the other flower/leaf on the strap, on another Whisper White  Stitched So Sweetly Die.
