It's minus 17 degrees Celsius and snowing, a perfect combination for craft time. I've really been enjoying the SAB offerings this year, and the accessory dies now being offered with some of my favourite stamp sets makes it that much easier to make those wow or simple cards.
Using the dies with the Little Ladybug stamp set, I made this card. Because of the darkness I couldn't quite get the lighting right, so the white card stock looks a little pink.
I just love these little Ladybugs so I got a bit carried away and stamped and coloured all 3 of them, then realized I didn't need three for my card.
The basic card is Real Red, layered with Whisper White. The art piece is a strip of Whisper White embossed with the Parisian embossing folder and matted with Real Red card stock. Adhered to both long sides are banners of Garden Green die cut with the Playful Pennants die.
One of the die cut Ladybugs is adhered to this art piece with dimensionals, the flowers in a cluster below with the tuft of grass at the bottom. A bow made of the dotted organza ribbon is added just above the tuft of grass. The second ladybug is at the bottom of the card trying to reach the flowers.
So, what happened to the third ladybug? It's on the inside of the card.
Little flowers and stem with leaves on them, and a patch of grass are extra dies that go with this stamp set. Four flowers were die cut in Whisper White and sponged with So Saffron and Calypso Coral inks. A basic black marker with the addition of a small black rhinestone added some markings and definition to the center of each flower. The stem and leaves as well as the tuft of grass were die cut in Garden green and sponged with the same ink colour before being adhered to the card front.
Supplies:
Stamp: Little Ladybug
Inks: Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Real Red, Basic Black. Ivory) So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Garden green, Basic Black marker
Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Garden Green
Accessories: Ladybug dies, Black Rhinestones, Playful Pennant dies, Parisian embossing folder, Dimensionals

A Wobbly Birthday - another Mini Catalogue Sneak Peak & SAB stamp
For this card I stamped a second Little Ladybug, fussy cut it and place a wobble behind it. This made for a rough landing on the single flower that this time was coloured with a Highland Heather Stampin' Blend.
The coloured images were die cut with the new Stitched So Sweetly Die and matted with a slightly larger piece of Rich Razzelberry card stock.
This was added to a Rich Razzelberry card stock base with dimensonals, which is layered first with Whisper White card stock, and then the new Peaceful Poppies DSP.
The sentiment is from "Happy Birthday to You", stamped in Rich Razzelberry ink on Whisper White, matted with Rich Razzelberry card stock, and mounted to the card front with dimensionals.
To finish the card, some Shimmer Crystal Effects was applied to the flower alone, giving it a shiny appearance.
Supplies Used:
Stamp: Little Ladybug, Happy Birthday to You
Inks: Black Memento, Stampin' Blends
Papers: Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Peaceful Poppies DSP
Accessories: Small wobble, Dimensionals, Shimmer Crystal Effects

Little Ladybug Thanks - a Mini Catalogue sneak peak Sale-a-bration item
At On Stage in Toronto early in November, most of the demonstrators there fell in love with the adorable ladybugs in the "Little Ladybug" Sale-a-bration stamp set. And those little critters are cute. Not as cute as my two little adopted kittens, but that's another story.
I had a lot of fun colouring the various elements of this card, but if you're not into colouring you don't have to. I just love to colour.
On a 3 3 4/ by 5" piece of Whisper White card stock, I stamped the flower 4 times, followed by the lady bug landing on one of the flowers.
Stampin blends were used to colour both the flowers and the lady bug. The background was coloured with Light Balmy blue, with the fine dots in darker blue using a stamp from the "Happy Birthday to You" SAB stamp set.
Here are the colours I used:
Flowers: So Saffron (dark), Daffodil Delight (dark), Early Espresso in the center
Stem and Leaves: Old Olive (Light and Dark), and Light Daffodil Delight
Lady Bug: Real Red, Basic Black, Dark Smoky Slate. The face and hands were coloured with the Ivory Stampin' Blend
To make the flowers stand out a bit more, I went around the edges of each with a dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blend.
This art piece was matted with Basic Black and then mounted on a Daffodil Delight card base.
Supplies Used:
Stamp: Little Ladybug, Happy Birthday to You (both SAB)
Inks: Black Memento . See above for others used
Papers: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight

Happy Birthday - Try Stampin on Tuesday #438 - A catalogue sneak peak
This card, made for the sketch challenge with Try Stampin on Tuesday #438 here and, because it is the birthday of one of the designers, the optional theme is "Birthday Fun"
The stamp and DSP used for this card provide a sneak peak of what is available in the new Mini catalogue which will be available for ordering on January 3.
The fun image is die cut from the new Birthday Bonanza DSP using the new Stitched Sweet Dies. That sweet colourful bird has a birthday hat on and three balloons held in his beak. To get the image I wanted, I actually fussy cut a second identical bird and super imposed this bird over the original bird using dimensionals.
To finish the art piece, Dazzling diamonds was added to several of the "explosion" elements in the DSP
This die cut was matted with Bermuda Bay and added to the card front using dimensionals.
The card base is Bermuda Bay card stock, layered with Whisper White. A large half circle of DSP featuring balloons similar to the ones held in the bird's beak is adhered to the left of the art piece. You might wonder why it is on the left side when the sketch clearly shows it on the right. The reason? I did not pay close attention to the pattern direction when I cut it, and when I placed the half circle on the right side the balloons were hanging upside down. So, it went on the left side.
A 1/2" strip of Bermuda Bay card stock with a 1/4" strip of Grapefruit Grove ribbon adhered to it, was added across the card front. A bow made of the same ribbon was added to the right of the art piece,
Supplies Used:
Stamp: Little Ladybug
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Papers: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Birthday Bonanza DSP
Accessories: Dimensionals, Stitched Sweet Dies (also new), 1/4" Grapefruit Grove ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds
