Get Well Soon - SUO Challenges #131

A number of my friends have been ill lately, and my stash of Get Well cards is getting low.  So I was particularly happy to see "Get Well" as this week's topic at SUO Challenges

I partially cased a card I saw on Pinterest - namely the tissue pop up box on the inside.

  • The base cardstock of Mint Macaron was matted with Whisper White embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.
  • Down the middle is attached a piece of Pretty Petals DSP matted with Mint Macaron.
  • The imagae panel was first stamped with the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set using Mint Macaroon, then the swirl image from "Flowering Flourishes" was stamped with Black Memento
  • On a separate piece of Whisper White, 5 flowers from the stamp set "Petite Petals were stamped using Mint Macaron.  They were punched out using the Petite Petal punch.  Three of the flowers are for the front of the card, and 2 for the inside.
  • Using the Owl Builder punch, 5 small circles (the eyes) were punched using Black Glimmer paper.  These were attached to the inside of each flower with a glue dot.  But before doing that, the petals of each flower were curcled up slightly.
  • A 1/4" strip of Mint Macaron was adhered to the bottom of the panel, and a 1/8" strip of black glimmer paper was added to the middle of that.
  • The 3 flowers were added as shown in the picture above.
  • The sentiment is from "Word Play" and die cut using the Lots of Labels framelits.  I played around with the framelit to get the shape I wanted.  Not sure if I suceeded.  It was attached using dimensionals.
Inside:

  • After adhering the 4 by 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, the tissue pop up box was made.
  • Tissue Pop Up box:  A 6 1/4 by 3" piece of Mint Macaron cardstock was scored at 1 1/2, 3, 4 1/2, and 6" on the long side.  Crease folds and burnish with a bone folder. Adhere the small flap to the bottom to create the pop up box.
  •  DSP was adhered to the top and front of the pop up. The opening for the tissue was created using a craft knife.
  • Adhere the bottom and back of the box to the inside at the crease.  When the card closes the box folds down.
  •  The sentiment was punched with the Word Window punch and adhered to the front of the box.
  • The other two flowers were adhered to the top right of the inside layer.

Summer Silhouette Anniversary - Try Stampin on Tuesday #117

We had another gorgeous day yesterday and it looks like the start of a great day today.  Rain is in the forecast, but we need it.  The plants are really growing fast, unbelievably so, and I've been kept busy moving perennials, and splitting them.  I have a plant sale every Spring, and this year it's the last weekend in May.  Rather than throwing the split perennials out, I repot them and sell them.  I had a late start this year because of the cool weather, but the sudden spurt of summer like conditions has kept me hopping.
This sudden burst of plant and tree growth has caused an increase in the pollen count - and you know what that means - allergies!  I can't seem to stop sneezing or rubbing my eyes.  It's definitely anti-histamine time!

I'm participating in a fundraiser the end of May.  I'm donating some of my cards for the cause.  My craft shows are also starting next weekend.  So I am making a variety of cards.  This week it's Anniversary cards.

This anniversary card is made using the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here

I seem to be in a monochromatic frame of mind, and this card is no exception.
The base card is Marina Mist, layered with a Whisper White card stock upon which I stamped a large flourish image.

The focal images are from the stamp set Summer Soltice.  I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to put 2 layers of Marina Mist flowers on the Gumball Green stems.  The image panels were matted with Marina Mist card stock and then attached to the card using dimensionals.  A bow made with 1/8" taffeta Marina Mist ribbon was attached to the stem of both flowers.

Three rhinestones on the upper left corner added to some bling, as well as some Dazzling Details on the flowers.

Instead of the upper left area, I placed the sentiment on the lower right.

Here's a list of materials and supplies used:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Flowering Flourishes, A Word for You
Inks: Marina Mist, Gumball Green
Papers: Marina Mist, Whisper White
Accessories: 1/8" Marina Mist taffeta ribbon, Dazzling details, rhinestones, Word Window punch, Modern Word Label punch, dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by.
