Happy Birthday Bella & Friends

I really enjoyed using the Pretty Kitty stamp set, making baby cards etc.  Now there's Bella & Friends.

Bella & Friends depicts little dogs, dogs that remind me of a friend of mine's little Murray who has gone to that place in the sky, and her current dog Fred. 

I don't have a dog - just a cat - who follows me around like a dog.  Right now he is sitting on my lap. There's something about my sitting at the computer that makes him feel that he has to be included so he begs and begs until I allow him up.

Over the next several days I will be posting a card made using this stamp set. They will be 4 by 4 cards that will be placed into a box.

The first card is a birthday card.

• The little dog holding the balloon obviously got pulled up into the sky by the balloon - maybe on purpose to find the shortest route to where a birthday is being celebrated. He was coloured with Sahara Sand and a blender pen.  The collar and balloon were coloured with Real Red ink.
• Some Wink of Stella clear glimmer was applied to the balloon, collar and tiny nose.
• After cutting him out, he was adhered to a background using dimensionals.  The background was sponged with Soft Sky and Marina Mist to mimic a sky.  Some clouds (punched using the Cupcake Builder punch) were added  and adhered to the sky using dimensionals. The edges were sponged with Marina Mist before attaching.
• The sentiment is from Balloon Celebrations.

The basic card is a 4 by 4" piece of Soft Sky cardstock, layered with Soft Sky DSP.  The image piece was adhered to this card front.

Happy Birthday Pretty Kitty

Today I thought I would combine the Pretty Kitty stamp set with the Balloon Celebrations to make a birthday card.

• This happy, laughing kitty was coloured with a blender pen and Soft Suede ink.  The ribbon was coloured Calypso Coral.  It was then cut out and set aside while I made the balloons and the card base which was Calypso Coral layered with embossed Whisper White.  On the left side a strip of Cherry on Top DSP (retired) was attached. A piece of Calypso Coral cardstock was attached over the edge.
• The 3 balloons were stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock using two step stamping.  The outer balloon was stamped with Black Memento; the texture with  Calypso Coral. and  punched out using the Balloon Builder punch.
• They were clustered to the Whisper White layer which was embossed with the Gently Falling embosssing folder. The third balloon was adhered with dimensionals.
• Because the background was already embossed, the strings coming from the balloons were hand drawn down to the kitty were was applied below them as if suspended in air.
• Three clouds were punched using the Cupcake builder punch, the edges sponged with Marina Mist cardstock and applied randomly around the kitty.
