Love birds - TSOT #640

This card was made using the sketch challenge with TSOT #640.  I made a few alterations in the sketch using two die cut birds holding a heart as the focal image.

The base of this 5 by 5" square card is Sweet Sugarplum card stock (retired). It is matted with Basic White followed by Flight & Airy DSP. I love this paper as the soft colours of the birds and blooms are romantic.
The circle in the middle of the DSP was made using a 3 3/4" circle die.  I added a piece of Vellum cardstock (with polka dots) behind the circle.
A strip of cardstock embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder was added across the lower end of the circle with dimensionals.
Two birds cut from the DSP were added to the right side of the embossed strip side by side, holding on to a red glitter die cut heart between then,  Three smaller hearts emerge from above the hearts.
A die cut word "love" was added to the center of the circle.

Supplies Used:
Papers:  Sweet Sugarplum, Basic White, Vellum, Flight & Airy DSP, Red Glimmer
Accessories:  Circle dies, Sweet heart dies, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Dimensionals.

Spread Your Wings... Try Stampin on Tuesday #465

Things that fly!   This was the optional theme with the sketch challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday #465 here.
I immediately envisioned a majestic eagle soaring over the mountains....

This Eagle, from Stacey Stamps, called "Freedom", is coloured with watercolor pencils and a blender pen and then fussy cut.  Dimensionals are used to add this majestic bird over a mountain scene created using the Waterfront stamp, and die cut with a circle die.

The circle is adhered to a Gray Granite rectangle, matted with Basic Gray card stock.  This is added to the card front with dimensionals.

The card base is Basic Gray layered with Smoky Slate with a 2" strip of "In Good Taste" DSP on the left.

All edges have been sponged with Smoky Slate ink.

The sentiment is from a stamp called "Spread Your Wings" created by my friend Marie the owner of Frog's and Whiskers store in Campbellford. After stamping with Smoky Slate ink, it is added to the card front below the bird, using dimensionals.  Selective words from the rest of the sentiment (highlighted with a Basic Black marker) were stamped on the inside of the card.

Some linen thread tied into a bow is added to the top corner of the sentiment.
