Collage Thank You - The Friday Mashup 72

Yesterday I spent the day at the Stampin' Up Regional Convention in Hamilton, Ontario, and one of the popular techniques used there was the collage technique.  So I thought I would try it for this challenge with the Friday Mashup.

So here is the "Mashup" Challenge:

  1. Make a project with "the Sketch".
  2. Or Make a project w/ a "flower or multiple flowers".
  3. Or "Mash it Up" and create a project w/ "the Sketch and a flower or multiple flowers".

Technique
Collage:
Using the colors Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, and Calypso Coral and the stamp set Fruit and Flowers, the images were randomly stamped across a 3 by 3 5/8" panel of Whisper White.  The image panel was cut back to 2 by 3 5/8" and the 1" remaining panel was used to decorate the inside of the card.
Flower:
The Flower Blossom punch, and Summer Starfruit card stock, punch out 2 flowers. Make a small snip between each petal. Then score each petal in 2 places and  pinch  along score lines.
Attach the petals together using a dimensional- alternating petals.
For the center, the Boho blossom punch was used.  Punch out one each of the largest and medium flowers using Early Espresso card stock, snip between each petal and pinch up.  Adhere the 2 together.  Attach to the center of the Summer Starfruit flower.  Finish the flower by applying a cluster of pearls in the center.
Spritz with gold smooch.

To My Friend- Create with Connie & Mary 180

There are so many wonderful new products in the New Occasions Mini, I was in a dilemma as to where to start and with what.
So, I started with what I love to do the most - make a 3D flower, using the new Blossoms punch.
Then I saw the sketch challenge with CCM and realized that the flower would incorporate very nicely into the sketch.

The base of the card is Night of Navy 5 by 10" scored at 5" and folded in half.
The next layer was made using the Fancy Fan Texturz plate.  With a brayer, Versa mark was applied to the plate.  A piece of Soft suede card stock was placed on top of the inked up plate and put through the Big Shot.  Gold embossing powder was then applied to the inked card stock and heat set with an embossing tool.  This step tied this layer with the pattern in the  Pocket Full of Posies designer paper.
The flower was made using the steps outlined in this video:

Using tombo glue silver glass glitter was applied to the top of the flower.

Stamps: Friendly Phrases
Inks: Night of Navy, Versa Mark
Papers: Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Pocketful of Posies designer paper, Baja Breeze, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Fancy Fan Texturz Plate, Blossom Punch, 1 4/4 by 7/8" oval punch, Silver glass glitter, pearls, gold embossing powder
