Welcome Little One

This is another card I made using an image I cut from the Animal Expedition DSP- this time a Kangaroo with a baby in its pouch, as well as 2 giraffes - oh, and the little frog way up in the tree top.

Doesn't it make a cute baby card?

Starting with a base of Call Me Clover card stock, it was layered with Whisper White embossed with the Trellis embossing folder.

On the left side was adhered a 2" piece of Animal Expedition DSP (with all the leaves on it).  A 1/2" strip of the DSP was reversed and adhered along the edge of the DSP.  It looks like chevron ribbon, but it's actually DSP.

On the focal piece I stamped the branch image from Animal outing a couple of times and coloured them with SU markers.  Then I adhered the kangaroo, the giraffe and the frog and added the second giraffe on the outside of the focal piece.

This Whisper White piece was matted first with Call Me Clover and secondly with Lemon Lime twist card stock before adding it to the card front (at an angle) using dimensionals.

The sentiments are the Animal Outing stamp set.

Some bling in the form of clear embellishments finished off the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Animal Outing
Inks:  Black Memento, Basic Gray (to sponge cut out images), markers (Call me Clover, Daffodil Delight)
Papers:  Call Me Clover, Whisper White, Lemon Line Twist, Animal Expedition DSP
Accessories:  Trellis embossing folder, Dimensionals, Embellishments

Thank You Big Time

The images in the Animal Outing stamp set do make a lovely thank you card, but that's not where I got the image for this card.

Would you believe I fussy cut the images from the Animal Expedition DSP?

This is a picture of a two toed sloth, so technically I should have placed him upside down.

I cut him out of the DSP, sponged the edges and adhered him to a 2 1/2" circle "dotted" with the  stamp from the Timeless Texture stamp set.  I sponged the edges of the circle with Mossy Meadow ink as well. Some Glossy Accents added to his body made him look more alive and realistic.

I started with a top folding Crumb Cake base, layered with a Very Vanilla piece embossed with the layered petal embossing folder.  The edges were sponged with Soft Suede ink before adhering it to the card base.

To the left is a notched animal print (also from the Animal Expedition DSP) with a rectangular piece of Crumb cake card stock embossed with the stripe and scallop embossing folder tucked underneath it.

The sentiment , from the same stamp set is punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch and adhered just below the embossed crumb cake piece.  The word "friend" is from "A Big Thank You" and is punched with the Classic Label punch and then adhered just below the main sentiment.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Animal Outings, A Big Thank You, Timeless Texture
Inks:  Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede
Papers:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Animal Expedition DSP
Accessories:  1 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Classical label punch, Glossy Accents, Clear Faceted gems, stripes and scallops embossing folder, Layering leaves embossing folder

Animal Outing Thank You - Hand Stamped Sentiments #289

What a beautiful day here in the Kawarthas - with  a lot of sunshine, no humidity and just a hint of a breeze to make it comfortable to work outdoors.

My gardens are slowly taking shape.  The growth of the plants have been absolutely phenomenal, some plants doubling and tripling in size in the last week.  It's a wonder to behold!

For the sketch challenge with Hand Stamped Sentiments I brought in some garden elements while using the Animal Outing stamp set.

I started with an Old Olive card stock base, layering it with a Whisper White layer embossed with  the Woodlands Embossing folder.  I sponged the edges and the top lightly with Basic Gray ink to bring out the pattern in the embossing .

The cute little rhinoceros with a colorful bird on his nose was stamped on a 2 1/2 by 3" piece of Whisper White card stock, matting it with a 2 3/4 by 3 1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock.  I stamped some extra leaves on the upper right, and some texture dots through out the rest of the piece.

The image was colored with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  Come Clear Wink of Stella was added to the animal alone.

This focal image was added (using dimensionals) to a 2 by 5" banner of Lots of Lovely DSP matted with Old Olive card stock (which was adhered to the embossed front layer.)  The bottom end was notched using the Triple Layer Punch.

The Classic Label Punch was used to punch out a sentiment from "Rooted in Nature".  This was added to the lower image piece using the small dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Animal Outing, Rooted in Nature, Timeless Texture
Inks:  Black Memento, Watercolor Pencils, Balmy Blue, Basic Gray
Papers:  Old Olive, Whisper White, Lots of Lovely DSP
Accessories:  Classic Label Punch, Woodland Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Blender Pen. Triple Layer Punch, Clear Wink of Stella

A Catalogue Sneak Peak - Wild About You - Paper Players #390

Finally today I get a chance to play with one of the new stamps in the upcoming Annual catalogue (launch date May 2).  I actually received this stamp set as part of the prize patrol at On Stage London in early April and was really excited to get it. If you ever get a chance to go to any of the local On Stage events put on by Stampin' Up go!!

I decided to use one of the images from this stamp set for the sketch challenge with the Paper Players

A strip of two patterns of the Crumb Cake DSP was placed across a piece of Whisper White cardstock adhered to a Soft Suede card base.  All the edges  were sponged with Crumb Cake ink before making this base card.

The kangaroo with a wee baby in its pouch was coloured with water color pencils and blended with a blender pen. After die cutting this image with a circle framelit it was matted with a larger Soft Suede circle and adhered to the card front with dimensionals. For interest I added a small branch at the upper right and fussy cut a tiny frog which I placed on top of the branch.  I know you can hardly see him but he was so cute I could hardly resist.

On the right side of the focal point, a strip of burlap ribbon was placed underneath the sentiment "Wild About You" and the card was complete.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Animal Outing
Inks:  Black Memento, Watercolor Pencils, Crumb Cake
Papers:  Soft Suede, Whisper White, Crumb Cake DSP
Accessories:  Layering Circle Framelits, 1/2" Burlap ribbon, Dimensionals, Blender Pen

I missed the link up deadline but am posting anyway.
