Happy Father's Day card Try Stampin on Tuesday #610

My garden is finally finished planting so I have a bit more time to spend in the craft room. However, I am spending much more time than planned because of poor air quality related to the wild fires to the north and east of us. The air is so bad that  there is a smell of campfires and the sun is obscured and when it does break through it look apopalyptic.

It's been more than a month since I made any cards for the challenges at Try Stampin on Tuesday, so I thought I would start here. The sketch at Challenge #610 at Try Stampin on Tuesday has an optional Masculine theme   And since Father's Day is coming soon, I decided to create my card using that sketch and two stamp sets:  Beside Me and Gone Fishing.

This image of the father fishing with his two children by his side is so nostalgic. I can almost hear the quiet chatter of the children as they talk to their Dad, the screaking of the sea gulls and the lapping of the waves against the dock. I can almost feel the breeze off the lake and smell fish caught long ago.

The above image, from "Beside Me' was stamped onto a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut with the Country side Corner die (#4 from the center).  I used Stampin' Blends to colour the images and added some water and a horizon. I also used a fine tip black pen to draw lines from the fishing poles to the water. Some how or other I lost the bird stamp that goes with the set, so I pulled the birds from "On the Horizon" and stamped them in Basic Gray over to the left sky. Before adding this image piecer to the card front, the edges were sponged with Misty Moonlight ink. I also fussy cut one of the fish from the DSP and added it to the left side of the image piece.

The card base is a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" top fold of Basic White. To this is added a 4 by 5 1/4" piece of "Let's Go Fishing" DSP which was matted with a slightly larger piece of Misty Moonlight card stock. Towards the bottom was added a 3/4 by 5 1/4" strip of Misty Moonlight die cut on one end with a zig zag Basic Border die.  On the top edge of this I added a 1/4" Natural Wavy trim.

The die cut image piece of added with dimensionals over the center of this strip.

The Father's Day sentiment was added to the right side of the image, and three In Color glitter dots were randomly to the image.
