Aspen tree die - a free SAB item- and a challenge to make 5 cards

Today I challenged myself to make as many cards as I could using the Aspen tree dies, a free SAB item as well as a current item in the mini catalogue on Pg. 46.  It comes with a stamp set, "Perched in a Tree" but I don't have that yet.

Card #1  An Elegant card in White and Silver Foil

Some Christmas vellum is adhered to a Thick Basic White card stock base and the die cut (Aspen tree die) is adhered to that.  The sentiment, from "Christmas to Remember" is embossed with silver embossing powder, & die cut with a stitched circle die. A strip of silver foil notched at both ends is behind the circle.  The two silver foil sprigs are from the Poinsettia dies.

Card #2     A Snowy Christmas Night

The Aspen tree die was used to die cut the card front as usual.  A snowy sky was created by stamping and embossing snow flakes with white embossing powder on a piece of Night of Navy card stock the same size as the die cut front. The snow stamp used was from "Joyful Flurry".  A non SU punch was used to punch two silver foil snowflakes. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

Card #3  Deer and a harvest moon

This time the Aspen Tree die was paired with Grassy Grove bundle.  The sky was created using blender brushes and the following colours of ink: Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight. The moon was masked with a 1 1/4" punched masking paper. The birds are from " Let's Set Sail" and the grass below from "Grassy Grove , as are the die cut deer.  The snow was created using "Snowfall Accents Puff Paint" dazzling diamonds and a heat tool.

The sentiment is from "Brightest Glow". The die cut is matted with Night of Navy card stock and added to a Basic White card base.

Card #4  BOO

This time the card front was die cut with Basic Black cardstock as this was supposed to be a dark, spooky Halloween card.  A retired piece of DSP was found that looked like stars in a sky, so all that was needed was to add a die cut yellow sliver moon from "Scary Cute".  Some die cut bats were also added and since they blended in to the back ground too much, some white chalk added to the top of their wings helped to locate them.

In the lower right corner three die cut leaves stamped using the baby wipe technique (Gorgeous Leaves stamp - retired) and die cut using Intricate Leaves Dies (retired) were added.  On top was added a witches hat .  This was stamped using the "Bewitching" stamp and punched using the coordinating Witch Hat builder punch.  Stampin' Blends were used to colour the hat.  A bow made with the Satin edged gold ribbon was added below the leaves.

The sentiment, from "Scary Cute" was embossed with white embossing powder.

The die cut front was matted with white glitter card stock and then onto a Basic Black card base.

Card #5  Slim Line Money Card

For this card, three of the larger poplar leaf were die cut - one each of gold foil, copper foil, and silver foil.  They were added to a panel of Basic White card stock embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. After matting this with a Soft Suede layer, it  was added to a Crumb cake layer which had been stamped around the edges with one of the leaves stamp and Crumb Cake ink.  This in turn was added to the Soft Suede card base.
The sentiment is embossed with Copper embossing powder and die cut with Hippo and friends die (retired).

A 2" piece of Soft Suede card stock was added to the inside.  It was adhered on 3 sides.  A notch was added to the middle - using a 1" circle punch

I probably am not finished making cards using this free SAB item.
