Hand Penned Petals - Happy Mail

During this pandemic what has become increasingly evident to me is the need for connection, for contact, for human touch.  Of course the latter two are not possible because of public health restrictions. But connection......

I received a comment the other day about how nice it was to get a hand made card. This from a person who sends cards all the time, but rarely receives them. Sending cards - thinking of you, just because, hello helps to fulfil this need for connection.

Today's card, made using the Hand Penned Petals bundle and DSP ended up being one of those' connection 'cards.  "Happy Mail" is the sentiment I used for this card.

The card base is Thick Basic White cardstock, layered first with Hand Penned DSP.

The art piece in the center is Basic White card stock die cut with the Layered Ornate die.  In the center of that is adhered a piece of DSP the pattern of which is  the other side of that layering the card front.

On that DSP I first adhered one half of a paper lattice (Pg. 141 of the Annual Catalogue).  To that lattice I first adhered a large leaf die cut using the Perennial Dies in Soft Succulent card stock. I also punched some stems using the Symmetrical Stems Border punch. These were adhered to some die cut flowers stamped in Highland Heather, which were then added to the lattice using dimensionals, Some smaller flowers were die cut in Pale Papaya card stock and then stamped with a center dot stamp and Highland Heather ink. These were added randomly on the art around he lattice.  After adhering the art piece to the card front using dimensionals, the sentiment was added.  "happy mail" was embossed with black embossing powder.  The 'happy' was trimmed around the letters and added to the card front using dimensionals - the 'mail' underneath.

In-colour rhinestones were added to the center of each flower and a bow made with Soft Succulent organza ribbon was added to the lower left corner using a glue dot.
