I am thoroughly enjoying making slimline cards as they are so elegant, and the increased surface area allows for a greater expression of creativity. These cards are somewhat addictive, and I must admit to making quite a few of them.
This slimline card is 9 by 7" scored at 3 1/2". It will fit into an business envelope, but I make my own envelope using retired envelope paper.
Today's card is a thank you card and it features the Sunflower from the "Celebrate Sunflower" stamp set.
The card base is Cajun Craze card stock, layered with Gilded Autumn DSP and then a layer of Whisper White which will be the art piece.
Using Crumb Cake and second generation stamping, the image of the Sunflower is stamped randomly on this layer. The white spaces in between are stamped with the splatter stamp from "Forever Fern" using Bumblebee and Pool Party ink. The edges are sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
The Sunflower as well as 4 leaves are stamped, coloured with Stampin' Blends and then die cut with the Sunflower dies. Using dimensionals, they are added to the left card front with the leaves added as shown on the picture above. Two of each of the wheat images were die cut and adhered together to make a more solid die cut. They were then clustered together and adhered to the right side of the sentiment banner. A bow made using the 1/8" metallic copper ribbon is added to the base of this cluster
.The sentiment, from the same stamp set, has one edge notched using the Triple Banner punch and after matting it with Early Espresso, it is added next to the flower.
Copper embellishments are added randomly on the card front and a Romance Seal on the upper right corner
