The temperature outside is definitely cooler today. At 8 am the temperature was a cool 8 degrees C considerably cooler than yesterday's 30 plus degrees. Working with Snowflakes must have made a difference.
The fun fold I used to make this card seems to be very popular right now. And it is a unique fold and perfect for showing off Stampin' Up's gorgeous DSP - and today I am working with the Snowflake Splendor DSP
There are several shades of blue in this DSP - Pool Party, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue, and even Seaside Spray - so any one of those colours could be used for the card base. However, I chose Pacific Point with Seaside Spray as an accent. I also used some of the new Balmy Blue glitter paper.
The card base of 5 1/2 by 11" is scored at 1", 5 1/2", and 9 3/4". The base is then folded in half with the flaps folded in from the right side with the smaller 1 1/4"" flap overlapping the 1 1/2" flap. In another card I made I rotated the base so the flaps were at the top and converted the bottom into a gift card holder. Two different patterns of the DSP were displayed with this fold, the measurements are as follows:
5 1/4 by 3", 5 1/4 by 1 1/4", and 5 1/4 by 1" and a piece of Whisper White 5 1/4 by 4" for the inside.
The sentiment, stamped with Pacific Point ink on Whisper White is die cut with a Stitched So Sweetly die, with a larger die cut in Seaside Spray added as a mat. Some snowflakes are stamped around the sentiment with second generation stamping and a snowflake die cut in Balmy Blue glitter is adhered to the top and blue gems to the corners and center of the snowflake. This embellishment is added to a 1 1/2 by 11" Belly band with dimensionals. The band is made from the left over Pacific Point card stock and has a 1/2" strip in Basic Black is adhered to the middle of it.
