Making a Splash on the Lake - Try Stampin on Tuesday #463

Summer is finally here, and so is the hot weather.  And when the high temperature is combined with a high humidity, the Lake is a perfect place to cool off.

For the sketch challenge with Try Stampin on Tuesday #463 which has an optional theme of "making a splash" I used the Lilypad Lake stamp set to create a splashy sail boat scene.

The Balmy Blue card base is layered with Whisper White card stock embossed with the Seaside Embossing folder.

A 3/4" punched post it note was used to mask the sun of the Lake scene as Balmy Blue ink was applied with a brayer over the entire art piece.  Second generation Pacific Point ink was added to the lake area using the water stamp .  After the mask was removed Daffodil Delight ink was added using a dauber.  Sea gulls from " Sailing Home" fly in front of the sun.

The sail boats were stamped on a separate piece of Whisper White, coloured with Stampin' Blends and die cut with the Lakeside Dies.

They were added to the Lake using dimensionals.  To make the water look 'choppy' some glitter embossing paste was added with a tooth pick around the boats and randomly on the water.

The art piece was matted with Whisper White before being added to a piece of Balmy Blue card stock.  This was adhered to the card front.

Below and next to the sentiment piece are die cut pieces of sea grass.
