Do The Impossible - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #440

My niece was a competitive swimmer.  She started swimming at the age of 7 and won numerous swimming event over the years. accumulating many medals and trophies. Despite early morning practices and weekend meets, she maintained her excellent grades and upon graduating from high school, had a decision to make - to train for the Olympics or to finish her education.

She chose to forego the Olympics, a difficult decision for her.  But several Universities openly courted her with full scholarships, one of which she accepted.  She graduated with full honours with a degree in International Studies while continuing with her competetive swimming. and is now living and working in Hong Kong with her husband and daughter

What she accomplished seemed to be impossible but with sheer determination and supportive parents who believed in her, she was able to accomplish the impossible.

This card was made for the first mix up challenge at Try Stampin' on Tuesday #440 for 2020. This challenge includes a theme - water - and a sketch.

I used both the theme and the sketch, but I shifted the sketch from vertical to horizontal

After colouring the image of the swimmer, so much like my niece, with Stampin' Blends, it was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly die, and matted with a larger, and different shaped die also cut with  Stitched So Sweetly die. A rhinestone from the Noble Peacock collection of rhinestones was added in each corner. Clear Wink of Stella was added to the water.

A hole was punched in each of the rounded ends of the Pretty Peacock die cut, and a double sided Old Olive/Pretty Peacock ribbon was inserted in one end , under the die cut, and out the other.  The ends were adhered under the card stock at each end.  A bow was added at the left side.
This art piece was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

The card base is Pretty Peacock, layered first with Whisper White and then Peaceful Poppy DSP, the pattern of which reminded me of water.

The sentiment under the swimmer was highlighted  with a Basic Black marker from a larger sentiment. The remainder of the sentiment was placed  inside of the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Do the Impossible
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin' Blends (Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Ivory), Basic Black marker
Papers:  Pretty Peacock, Whisper White, Peaceful Poppy DSP
Accessories:  Stitched So Sweet Dies, 3/8" Double sided Old Olive/Pretty Peacock ribbon, Noble Peacock rhinestones, dimensionals, hand held punch, Clear Wink of Stella
