Life Happens Coffee Helps - TSOT #427

Today, September 29, 2019,  is National Coffee Day.  Out of curiosity I did a bit of research and found that there is an International Coffee Day as well, but it is on Oct. 2 .

You can find a bit of the history of National Coffee Day here

Because of the national designation of this day, I  made a card featuring coffee, using the sketch with Try Stampin ' on Tuesday #427 which ironically has an optional theme of "Coffee, tea, or another warm beverage".

I used the retired stamp set "Coffee Cafe" with its coordinating Coffee Cafe dies  as well as the coordinating but retired DSP .

After die cutting the cup in Whisper White card stock, coffee beans were stamped randomly all over it in Early Espresso ink.  The edges were then sponged with Early Espresso to give it more dimensions. The entire surface of the coffee cup was then embossed with clear embossing powder to make it look like the shiny take out cups. The lid was also stamped in Early Espresso, die cut and adhered to the top of the cup.

The hand protector was die cut using the wood grain pattern of the retired DSP and adhered to the cup.

"Thanks a Latte" was stamped with Garden Green ink, die cut with oval die and adhered to coffee cup using dimensionals.

The coffee cup was adhered with dimensionals, at an angle, to an embossed Whisper White art piece, which had been  die cut with  the stitched rectangle die .  The embossing folder is unknown to me - I found this embossed piece in my left over stash.  The embossed image is a winter one. The swirls reminded me of heat rising off a coffee cup, so I high lighted the them with Balmy Blue ink.
The art piece is matted with Old Olive card stock and added to the DSP of the card front with dimensionals.

The card base is Old Olive, matted with Whisper White then retired DSP with a pattern of various colours of circles.

The sentiment, stamped in Garden Green ink, is punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch and matted with a 2" Early Espresso circle. This is adhered to the lower right corner of the center piece. Three stamped and die cut coffee beans were embellishments added to the sentiment

At the top is a 1/4" strip of wood grain DSP notched at one end.

The inside was finished as indicated in the picture below.

Supplies Used:
Stamp:  Coffee Cafe
Inks:  Black Memento, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Balmy Blue, Versa Mark
Papers:  Old Olive, Whisper White, Coffee Cafe DSP (Retired)
Accessories:  Coffee Cup Dies, 1 3/4" circle punch, 2" circle punch, Dimensionals, Embossing Folder (unknown), Clear Embossing Powder
