Beautiful Day - SUO Challenge #161 Coloring

Coloring images for my cards is something I really enjoy doing and I like using a variety of media to do so.  One of the media I love to use is the Stampin' Blends, sometimes combining them with the watercolour pencils.

The challenge with SUO Challenge #161 is coloring - using any of the media Stampin' Up offers.  I chose to use Stampin' Blends to colour the flowers from the "Beautiful Day" stamp set.

The Stamparatus was used to stamp two of the flowers set onto Whisper White card stock. and coloured with Stampin' Blends.

The following colours were used on the flowers and leaves:

Flower 1: Mint Macaron Light and Dark with shading done in Bermuda Bay
Flower 2:  Melon Mambo Light and Dark with shading done in Pacific Point
Centers of both flowers:  Daffodil Delight Light and Dark and some contrast done with Crumb Cake Light.
Leaves  Granny Apple Green and Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Light
After colouring, they were fussy cut and adhered to a lacy white die cut (Beautiful Layers Thinlet die) on the card front,

The card base is Melon Mambo layered with Whisper White and then Garden Impressions DSP (Mint Macaron colour)_.  A strip of the reverse side of the DSP  (Melon Mambo) was placed along the left side.

The sentiment, from "Part of My Story" is punched with the new Storybook Label Punch

Stamps:  Beautiful Day, Part of My Story
Inks:  Black Memento, Stampin Blends (Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake)
Papers:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Garden Impressions DSP
Accessories:  Storybook Label Punch, Dimensionals, Beautiful Layers Thinlet Dies.

I would never have thought of layering the different colors of Blends together like you did, especially that Pacific Point on top of Melon Mambo. Wow, does it look beautiful! Thanks for joining us at SUO Challenges and now I've got a technique to go try :)

This is great. I can't even work with that DSP and then you paired the flowers with them. What a feat. Great job! Thank you so much for joining us at SUOChallenges.com. We hope to see you back tomorrow for another challenge.
