Stamparatus Tip: Cleaning stamps

In the new Annual catalogue the Simply Shammy was introduced - a wonderful cleaning tool for stamps.

Up until now most of us were using the stamp 'n scrub or baby wipes to clean our stamps.  But once we started using the Stamparatus, the stamp' n scrub was pretty useless, so baby wipes continued to be used in order to clean the stamps before removing them from the glass plates.

Enter the Simply Shammy on page 206 of the catalogue - a durable thick reusable cleaning mat.  Just add water than wipe stamps. This 5 by 7" mat fits neatly into a stamp case for storage.  If it should dry out it will feel hard, but just add water and it I will become soft again.

How can this be used to clean stamps when using the Stamparatus?

Just insert the damp Simply Shammy into the Stamparatus, and close the lid on the shammy.  The stamp is automatically cleaned. Note:  you will see from my shammy that it's been used a lot.

Insert Shammy

Close lid

Lift lid - stamp is clean and you see image of stamp in Shammy.
