Box for Card in a Box - a Tutorial

Yesterday I posted a Christmas Card in a Box and indicated that I had designed a box to place this card in. As promised, here is the tutorial.

Supplies Needed:
  • Cherry Cobbler card stock(box base)
  • Garden Green card stock (lid)
  • Lots of Labels framelits (largest framelit)
  • Window Sheet
  • Fast Fuse
  • Tombo
Method:

The Box Bottom
  1. Cut Cherry Cobbler 10 1/4 by 8 1/2" .  Score 2" on all sides.
2.  Cut along score lines on opposing sides.  Trim the two outer tabs.

3.  Apply fast fuse to tabs.

4.  Join tabs to form base of box.

5.  The card and box fit very nicely in the box bottom.

The Lid:

  1. Cut Garden Green Card stock to  8 1/2 by 6 1/2"  and score 1" on all sides.

2.  Cut along score lines on opposite sides and trim tabs as shown

3.  Use the largest of the Lots of Labels framelits, die cut an opening in the center of the lid (using the Big Shot) Adhere a piece of window sheet on the inside of the box over this opening.

 4.  Use Fast Fuse on tabs to form box lid.

Your box is now complete.

Decorate as desired.
