Nativity Scene in an Ornament - Just Add Ink #342

The last challenge of the season with Just Add Ink , is to create a project beginning with the letter "N".  Immediately "nativity scene" came to mind - a nativity scene with a Night of Navy sky all of which is in a Christmas ornament.

This is actually 1/2 of a 100 mm plastic ornament.

After stamping and colouring the three wise men and the shepherd as part of the Nativity scene, the image was cut out and put aside.

A 3" circle was die cut in Whisper White card stock, using the Circle Framelits. The night sky was created using the emboss resist technique.  Snowflakes from the stamp set "Snow Place" were stamped randomly over this circle using Versa Mark ink and white embossing powder added.  After heat setting this, the entire circle was brayered with Night of Navy ink.

A 3" circle of Dazzling Diamond glimmer paper was also die cut.  It was cut in half in an irregular line and adhered to the embossed sky.

The image was adhered to this surface and another layer of dazzling diamond glimmer paper adhered over the image.  Excess paper was trimmed.

The completed image was adhered to a large scalloped dazzling diamond circle, and the half ornament was adhered to that using a hot glue gun.

Before adhering the trim around the ornament a hanging ribbon was attached.

A 2 1/2" Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon was tied into a bow and adhered to the top of the ornament.
