- The base card stock is Flirty Flamingo cut at 4 1/4 by 11 and scored at 5 1/2 to make a top folding card.
- The next layer is Watercolour paper cut at 5 1/4 by 4"
- The image piece is also watercolour paper cut at 2 5/8 by 3 5/8". A mat of Basic Black cardstock measures 4 by 2 3/4"
Using Stazon ink, the floral image was stamped at the lower right and the upper left corners. The sentiment was stamped in the middle between the two flowers.
The two layers were then taken apart, and only the floral part on the image piece was coloured with an Aqua painter and ink pad. Flirty Flamingo ink was used for the flower, Crushed Curry marker for the center of the flower, and Old Olive for the stem. I used some Sweet Sugarplum ink to darken some areas of the flower.
After the flower was coloured I wanted to put some lightened areas on the petals, just as if the sun were shining on it. To do that I took a small amount of household bleach and a small paint brush, and lightly touched areas I wanted to remove the paint from. Then I added clear Wink of Stella glitter on these areas.
To create interest in the area, I took the small end of the Flirty Flamingo marker and make dots all around both flowers.
After the colouring was complete, the image piece was matted with the Basic Black cardstock, and then adhered to the card front matching the images as closely as possible.
After finishing the card front I looked at it and determined that it "needed something". That "something" was a butterfly punched using the Playful Palette DSP, Liquid pearls were added to the body of the butterfly and extending over the antennae and on to the first layer.
