Welcome Polar Bear Cub - Technostamper

I've experienced a lot of technical difficulty with this blog post.  I don't know how many times I edited, reposted etc, but the post was still a mess.  So now I'm starting from scratch.  My apologies for those who tried to read this post-----.

On Nov. 9 three polar bear cubs were born to Aurora, a Polar Bear at the Toronto Zoo.  Shortly after, 2 of the cuts died (for unknown reasons).  The one surviving cub has been placed in the care of the Zoo vets and is beginning to do much better, moving around more and becoming quite vocal.  He is now about the size of a human hand.

I was inspired to make a card welcoming the baby cub into this world. I used the sketch challenge with Technostamper here to make the card - as well as the masking technique.

I used the masking technique to depict Aurora and her mate - the proud parents of the 3 cubs that were born in November.  The adult Polar bears were then lightly coloured using a Smoky Slate marker and an Aqua Painter.
The snow was made using Heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds.  I tossed a bit of Mica flakes into the mix and heated from the bottom of the paper.  Since it snowed here last night I thought I add a few mica flakes in the sky and heat from the bottom to indicate falling snow.

Stamps: Zoo Review, A Word for You
Inks: Black Stazon, Smoky Slate marker
Papers: Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, Venetian Romance designer paper, Soft Suede
Accessories: Heat and stick powder, dazzling diamonds, Mica flakes (retired), Ovals Framelits,

Here is a picture of the surviving cub:

Oh, how interesting! Love the photo of the cub. Your card is terrific. Did you send it to the zoo? The polar bear handlers would like it very much to know someone cares. Thanks for sharing. Nancy B

Awww, how sad about the baby cubs. How darling is the survivor--hope he continues to do well. Your card is so cute, love the sparkle--awesome job, thanks so much for playing along with my sketch challenge this week. BTW--did you ever get the package I sent you?
