Rev Up the Fun Happy Birthday - Pal Paper Arts #161

I don't particularly like this hot humid weather, but better this than snow.  The people in southern Alberta are still struggling with the devastating flood as are people in India, where the death toll is expected to be over 5,000.  Seems we have a lot to be thankful for in Southern Ontario.  My thoughts today are with the people of South Africa as they maintain a vigil over the critically ill Nelson Mandela.

Today's card is for the challenge with Pal Paper Arts here.  I was at an all day card making class (yes taking rather than teaching) and one of the toys we got to play with was Dylusion inks.  I thought why not try making my own sprays with reinkers and water!!  So, when I got home I took some water colour paper, filled two spritzers with water, and in one put 3 drops of Garden Green reinker, and in the other 3 drops of Bermuda Bay.  These two colours were spritzed onto the watercolour paper and allowed to dry.  When partially dry I spritzed some Bridal party smooch on it and that gave the background some sheen.  I let the paper dry over night.  The result you will see in the card below.

I quite like the result.  The colour is a bit more muted, but that's okay.
I stamped the image of the motorcycle twice - once onto the watercolour paper, and once onto a scrap piece of Whisper White paper.  The second one I cut out and coloured using a yellow and red smooch.  The wheels were coloured with a Basic Gray marker.  It was mounted over the motorcycle on the paper using dimensionals.  I then stamped the tire mark, the sentiment and the dirt marks.
The edges of the watercolour image panel were sponged with Garden Green ink.

The basic card is Basic Black card stock, layered with Very Vanilla  card stock.  At an angle was placed a piece of Modern Medley designer series paper.  The edges of these papers were sponged with Basic Black ink.

The image panel was adhered to the center of the card using dimensionals.  A silver soda pop which was flattened using the Big Shot was adhered to the lower right corner.  I punched a 1" circle of the other side of the DSP and glued that to the inside of the soda pop top and then a bow make of white baker's twine.

Here's a list of supplies I used:
Stamp: Rev Up the Fun!
Inks: Black Stazon, Basic Gray marker, Smooch, Reinkers (Garden Green, Bermuda Bay), Garden Green
Papers: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Watercolour paper, Modern Medly DSP, Whisper White
Accessories:  Spritzes made with reinkers and water, Smooch spritz (pink), Soda Pop Top, 1" circle punch, White Baker's twine, dimensionals
