Congratulations Graduate! The Friday Mashup #108

Yes, it's that time of year.  Classes are finished or finishing and plans are being made for that big event - graduation.  I think most graduates agree that "the tassle is worth the hassle" and that graduation more than make up for assignment deadlines, tests, exams, and lack of sleep.
This graduation card is for the Friday Mashup challenge here.  The challenge is to celebrate our graduates.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project for "Graduation".
  2. Create a project with "any kind of Embossing".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project with "Embossing for Graduation".
That's quite the challenge, and I loved doing it.  Embossing is something I enjoy doing - both dry embossisng using the Big Shot, and embossing using embossing powder and an embossing tool.  For this card I used both methods.

The Pacific Point card base is layered with a Polka dot embossed layer of Whiser White card stock.  On top of that I placed a large strip of Pacific Point DSP.

The focal image is from a retired stamp set "Go Graduate".  The graduates are embossed with black embossing powder and coloured with SU markers.  A strip of scalloped basic black card stock with Daffodil Delight seam binding attached to it, is situated just above the graduates.  Above that I embossed the sentiment "Congratulations, graduate!".  This image panel is matted with black card stock and attached to the card using dimensionals.

Below the image panel I die cut a circle in Daffodil Delight and embossed it with the Square Lattice folder.  It was matted with a black scallop circle die and the unit was attached to the card below the focal image panel.  I embossed a graduate's hat, cut it out and attached it to the surface of the circle.

Here's a summary of the materials used:

Stamp: Go, Graduate
Inks: Versa Mark, SU markers
Papers: Pacific Point, Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point DSP
Accessories: Polka dot folder, Square lattice folder, Black embossing powder, Scallop border punch, 5/8" Daffodil Delight ribbon, dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by.
