Thoughts of You, Rain or Shine - The Friday Mashup #

We certainly need some rain!  Rainfall in March was really down this year!  Everything looks so dirty after the winter, and the Spring flowers need some encouragement to stick their heads above the soil. I've hardly had an opportunity to use my umbrella this spring.
And that's the topic for the challenge with The Friday Mashup this week - umbrellas - that is, create a Double Z fold card with an Umbrella Image. See the challenge here . I used the tutorial from Splitcoaststampers here to create the Double Z fold card.

Above is the image of the double Z card being held closed by a ribbon.  The base card is Pretty in Pink, and the 2 front panels have been decorated with first a layer of Whisper White, then a layer of Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP with umbrella on it.  On top of that is small layer of the reverse side of that DSP.

The inside of the card has a Whisper White layer, with a strip of the umbrella DSP from Sunshine and Sprinkles. You can see the double Z folds. The sentiment is from the Rain or Shine stamp set.

The card is held shut by a 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette/Rose Red two tone ribbon from the spring catalogue.

Up close you can see the Whisper White die cut made using the Large Delicate Doillies die and the Big Shot.
A 2" Pretty in Pink circle, die cut using the Circles die #2 die was attached to this doillie.

A 1 3/4" circle of Whisper White was punched and the umbrella handle was stamped on it using Early Espresso ink.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White, the umbrella image was stamped using Baja Breeze ink.  It was cut out with a pair of paper snips, and attached, using dimensionals to the circle above the handle.

The sentiment was inked with a Basic Black marker and stamped underneath the umbrella.  This circle was now attached, using dimensionals, to the Pretty in Pink circle.

The ribbon was then attached to the card and tied in a bow.
The focal image unit was then  attached to the left Z fold panel with dimensionals - over top of the ribbon.

Because I love bling, some Dazzling detail was applied to the little flowers on the umbrella. The card is now finished.

Here's a list of supplies/materials used:

Stamps: Rain or Shine
Inks: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Basic Black marker
Papers: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP
Accessories: Large Delicate Doillies die, Circles #2 die, 1 3/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" Pink Pirouette/Rose Red ribbon, Dazzling details, dimensionals.

Hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for stopping by.
Comments would be appreciated.
