The Old Pump Best Wishes - Mojo Monday 288

Once again I am drawn to the Countryside stamp set to do the sketch challenge with Mojo Monday here.  Again I have made a masculine birthday card.

This card has taken me the longest to make!  I have never been so indecisive in making a card in my life!  I started making the card by stamping and painting the image of the old pump, and after that everything went down hill.  I couldn't decide on a colour scheme. The main problem was selecting the DSP.  Most of the colours for a masculine card were just too strong!  I thought I had everything sorted out by switching to blue tones, but it didn't fit with the colours of the focal image - so on I went with another set of colors.  Finally, after the 3rd try I was satisfied. You'll have to let me know what you think of my final selection.

The base card stock is Cajun Craze, layered with Very Vanilla, and then a layer of DSP from the Festival of Prints paper pack.

The image was stamped with Black Stazon onto Whisper White card stock, and painted with ink pads and an aqu painter.  It was then die cut using the Ovals framelits and layered with an Old Olive scallop oval #2.  The two were sponged with Chocolate chip and adhered together using dimensionals.

The panel the image was attached to consisted of  Cajun Craze layered with embossed Crumb cake card stock. Opposite corners were rounded.  Three Very Vanilla banners were attached to the Crumb Cake, and the focal image was attached on top of that.  A flattened silver sofa pop top was adhered to the top right of this panel as an embellishment.

Here's a list of the materials/supplies used:

Stamps: Countryside, Petite Pairs
Inks: Black Stazon, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
Papers: Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Ovals framelits, Scallop oval die #2, Square lattice folder, small silver soda pop top, Green/white Baker's twine, 1/2" circle punch, corner rounder punch, dimensionals, Crystal Effects

Hope you enjoyed this card

Thanks for stopping by.

You turned out a really nice masculine card, so your efforts were worth it. Your cards are always great! It's amazing how many prints in Christmas DSP packs can apply to so many different types of cards. Thanks for sharing your angst! Nancy B
