Graduation is around the corner for many students, so for challenge 221 I decided to make a graduation card. I used the colours of our local college - yellow (Daffodil Delight), green (Gumball Green) and black (Basic Black)
As I mentioned, this graduation card uses the colours of our local college. I started by stamping the focal image with Gumball Green, and using the stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped the "congratulations" stamp onto the ribbon. Using the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch, I punched the top part of the ribbon, leaving the ribbon free. The ribbon was cut out free hand.
A 1 3/8" Daffodil Delight circle was punched using Daffodil Delight card stock, which was attached to the center of the scallop circle. The sentiment was then stamped with Black Stazon, and punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch. It was attached to the center of the Daffodil Delight circle using dimensionals.
The base cardstock is Basic Black, layered with a Lines embossed piece of Whisper White card stock. To the left side of the card I placed a strip of Black, Gumball Green and Daffodil Delight cardstock. The Daffodil Delight layer was embossed with the square lattice embossing folder.
A piece of 1/8" Black taffeta ribbon was wrapped around the top of this strip and a ribbon attached with a glue dot.
The focal image was attached to the card straddling the layered strip. I used dimensionals on the scallop circle only. Glue was attached to the ribbon and it was attached below the scallop circle slightly underneath it.
Here's a summary of the materials/stamps used:
Stamps: Blue Ribbon
Inks: Black Stazon, Gumball Green
Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Lines folder, Square Lattice folder, 1/8" black taffeta ribbon, dimensionals, glue dot.
