Birthday Pinwheel - Try Stampin' on Tuesday #112

Okay, I give up!  When is Spring going to arrive?  Today was lovely and sunny but cool.  At least it wasn't snowing, and the snow that is on the ground is disappearing.

This card is for the challenge with Try Stampin' on Tuesday here

Although I have had the pinwheel die for quite some time, this is the first time I have used it on a card.  I wanted to either make a pinwheel quilt for the sketch, or a pinwheel itself.  I opted for the pinwheel.

This A2 card has a base of Summer Starfruit, layered with Whisper White card stock, and then Patio Party DSP.
A small piece of Patio Party DSP was matted with Midnight Muse card stock and adhered on the left side of the card near the top half.  A smaller piece of Whisper White card stock which was embossed with a polka dot folder, was sponged with Riding Hood Red ink - then matted with Midnight Muse and attached to the larger piece.

Two 1 1/2" pieces of card stock were punched - one in Midnight Muse, and one in Whisper White. After sponging the edge of the Whisper White one with Riding Hood Red ink, it was adhered to the Midnight Muse one alternating the corners. This unit was attached to the embossed Whisper White card stock.

Using Riding Hood Red card stock, a pinwheel was die cut and formed.  A regal brad was inserted in the middle of the pinwheel to keep it together.  A dimensional was used to adhere the pinwheel to the squares.

Here's a summary of the materials used:

Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Inks: Black Stazon, Riding Hood Red
Papers: Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Patio Party DSP, Riding Hood Red, Midnight Muse
Accessories: Pinwheel die, 1 1/2" square punch, Polka dot folder, Regal brad, dimensionals

Hope you enjoyed this card.  Thanks for visiting.
