A Bouquet of Flowers for Mother - Sunny Challenges & Creations

I don't know what the weather has been like in Australia, but here in Canada we had a winter storm - yes a winter storm in Spring time.  Starting on Thursday, we had had rain, freezing rain, ice pellets and snow.  I hope this is the last of it, because if Mother Nature can't make up her mind, how can we.
This week the challenge is to make a Mother's Day card or a card for a female using the sketch provided. Despite the lack of flowers I thought I would make a Bouquet of flowers for mother.

This A2 card has a base of Primrose Petals card stock, layered with Whisper White, and then a layer of Birds of a Feather DSP.

The focal image consists of a 2 1/2" circle of Whisper White matted with a Primrose Petals scalloped circle die cut with the Scallop circles die #2.  Using a template and the mat pack and paper piercer, the Whisper White circle was paper pierced all the way around.  The two circles were attached together.

The flowers and leaves are from the Secret Garden stamp set.  Each of the flowers, one in Elegant Eggplant, one in Summer Starfruit, and one in Pool Party, were first stamped in Versa Mark, and then in the colours mentioned.  Clear embossing powder was applied to each flower and heat embossed.  All except for the Pool Party one, where I used Pool Party embossing powder, and the leaf stem, where I used Wild Wabasi embossing powder.  The flowers and leaves were die cut using the Secret garden framelits.  The Elegant Eggplant flower was further coloured using a Melon Mambo ink pad and an Aqua painter.  These elements were arranged around the circle and adhered using either adhesive or dimensionals. An additional Vanilla rose fabric flower was coloured with a Melon Mambo marker and adhered using a glue dot.
A butterfly was punched out of the Birds of a Feather DSP and the edges sponged using Tempting Turquoise ink.

The sentiment is from the Messages for Mom stamp set (retired).  It was stamped with Black Stazon, and the words cut apart and adhered to a 1 3/8" circle matted with a 1 3/4" scalloped circle of Primrose Petals.  A smaller butterfly was adhered to the sentiment circle.

A white organza ribbon and bow was attached to the bottom of the card.

Here's a list of the materials/supplies used:

Stamps: Secret Garden, Messages for mom
Inks: Black Stazon, Elegant Eggplant, Summer Starfruit, Versa Mark, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo ink and marker
Papers: Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Birds of a Feather DSP
Accessories: 2 1/2" circle punch, Scallop circle die #2, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 3/4" scallop circle punch, Secret Garden framelit, Large butterfly punch, small butterfly punch, rhinestones, 5/8" white organza ribbon, dimensionals 5/8" vanilla flower

Your card is cheery and reminds me that summer is coming (we can only hope). Although we have heavy frost this morning at least the sun is shining today. Cheers, Shirleyx
